Just because the song was left off the album doesn't mean it can't become a single.? Some of the most kickass songs were released as singles first while not released on an album (Honkey Tonk Women, Strawberry Fields Forever, Positively 4th Street by Dylan).? Maybe it'll get an itunes single release since digital is the way to go now and it can garner radio play that way.

Beautiful tune....definitely VR's best and one of the better rock ballads I've heard in a while.  Hopefully this song won't be washed away in B-Side infamy.

There was az intervew where Slash was talking about a song he really loved and was very proud of his guitar playing. He mentioned that the song didn't make Libertad but it will be released 'somewhere else'. Does anyone remember the article? Was he talking about Messages? I hope the 'somewhere else' means an EP or a single.

I think you mean this one, about 6 min into the interview he mentions something along those lines...It's actually a pretty good interview

Why they kept the song off is beyond me. Its a good song. It is better than Gravedancers imo because its more original. I love the Slash sound on this one. Overall its a good song I thought I was going to hear a monster after reading the descriptions.....But yes def should have been on the album... If they went in this type of direction I think they would have a more complete and fufiling type album and potential. Hopefully they explore this avenue next time around.

cant compare it to the nr/dont cry/ycbm scenario because A} this song would fit on the album...and b} they released this song with this album. If they held it for a follow up thats a completely diff story

It mainly Slash's tone that melts my heart.  It is so vocal, and combined with Scott's vocals, it equals magic.  Very few bands have a guitar player like Slash that can put that much emotion into something simple like he is playing.  He is a special player and this is a special song.  The more I listen, the more i love it!

Well I think "You Could Be Mine" would've fit perfectly on Appetite, but I digress. ?There is no indication that this was left off the album for inclusion on future albums, as having it as a bonus track/b-side completely negates that theory. ?Leaving if off in lieu of "Gravedancer" was a mistake in my opinion.

The music itself is great, some of the best playing slash has done since leaving guns. The only thing I don't like about it is scott's singing, what could have been an amazing song, is reduced to only a good song for me because of his voice  Undecided
