Slash defies smoking ban

07/02/2007 3:00 PM, Yahoo! Music

Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash has said that he is ready to flaunt the U.K. smoking ban.

The former Guns N' Roses star was recently involved in an investigation following a Velvet Revolver show in Wales recently after lighting a cigarette onstage.

The whole of the U.K. is now covered by a smoking ban in places of work after a new law came into force in England yesterday (July 1).

Speaking to NME.com, Slash said, said: "It's what I do--unless I giving up smoking altogether, which I don't see happening. I'll probably just take my chances, pay the 50 pounds, and smoke to my heart's content. I can't imagine being up there and playing for 90 minutes and not having a fag."

Thanks for your input, but there was already a whole topic about this.  See a couple pages back.   Basically, Cardiff is going to take the rap, for it.  What it boils down to is that the venue needs to get their policies together.

As some one above said he was born in england and raised there till he was 11. So his parents would use english slang. In some intervews he says things wich are very english if that makes sense

Right, so in other words he was being a smartass (most likely) or just lets Brit slang creep in now and again (also possible). I don't see this whole "Someone else said it" being the case at all.

Way to go Slash! The smoking ban sucks majorly, I live in England so I have now experienced having a pint and not being able to have a smoke at the same time. Why not allow an enclosed smoking room? Seriously  Roll Eyes
