Obama says knock you out

« on: July 02, 2007, 04:25:49 AM »

Sunday paper style. Let's list all of the main outlets carrying Libertad on Tuesday and the best prices/bonus features for each. Some places like FYE sometimes do a free poster or the like...Best Buy I think has some "exclusive" special edition. Anyway, I don't get the paper with flyers out here in university land, and this is something we did on a Manson board that really helped a lot of people out and worked out well for me. Post up prices and info in here. By the way, does anyone know if Hot Topic is doing their new usual of big new cd released and a t-shirt of that band's or something similar for like $20?

Do you know anything more about the Best Buy "exclusive"? It's a good $5 more than the regular edition, if I can recall.

I got mine this morning (UK). Picked up the special edition for ?13.47. Watched the DVD, it's quite cool and there are live performances of Sucker Train Blues, Do It For the Kids, Let it Roll and She Builds Quick Machines. Worth the extra ?3 really. And the CD is enhanced with the making of Libertad, there are some cool interviews with the guys and some good footage.

One's probably just the DVD version and one's the standard version.

I'm going to be pissed if the one time that I sprung for the Japanese version that the US actually gets more!

If I were in LA...I'd buy it at one of the below places (but I'd show up early!):

Be one of the first people to buy the new CD from Velvet Revolver "LIBERTAD" coming out Tuesday July 3rd and get 1 ticket to see them perform at the Whisky on Sunset, Thursday July 5th. CD goes on sale at Midnight Monday July 2nd - limit 2 Cds, 2 tickets per person.

Tickets will be available while supplies last at ONLY these 2 Virgin Megastore locations:

Virgin Megastore on Sunset in West Hollywood
8000 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles

Virgin Megastore Hollywood & Highland
6801 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood

I got the doube disc album. The DVD is like a tour documentary, behind the scenes and some onstage footage, lasts for about 30 mins. I picked it up at my local supermarket but I have seen it in various shops already.

There might not be a parental advisory on it - go to Wal-Mart at midnight - they should have it then.

This thread sorta got derailed. By "where to buy" I meant literally we should compile the prices of Libertad and any other offers from various retailers and make a list for users to reference and make their decision. For example:

Best Buy: $x.xx + exclusive _______
Circuit City: "

You know. I don't get flyers, a lot of people might not, just thought it would be a help. A fun thing.

I miss The Wiz, too. Fuck FYE though. FYE sets the price bar so high I'm surprised they haven't priced themselves out of business. That with their shit selection, shit attitude, and general lack of tact or proper planning when it comes to their involvement in concerts or meet-and-greets. I hope all FYE's burn to the foundation.

Really you just found out? It's been a pretty solid year so far for major releases. I feel like we're back in the nineties at least, because things have been pretty dead for awhile. Cheers man, I hope you enjoy it, too beer
