It was a good game by the Rangers. Penguins weren't bad, except for the powerplay... Lundqvist was really solid. It might become a long series. I hope not though..

NOBODY'S picking the Flyers over the Canadians in an upset, eh?

Yeah, I know...Montreal is really that good...but I can't believe SOMEONE isn't gonna pick the Flyers just because they're a Philly team trying to win a championship.

Eh hem......

Flyers are looking pretty good right now, eh?

Wait...am I allowed to use "eh" considering they're beating a Canadian team?

I did...but not enough to matter.  I bet $25 that the Flyers would win...hardly a big payday.

And I have to admit...I'm not exactly a Flyers fan.  I just like to root for the underdog....and I like the Flyers/Philly mystique when it comes to pro-sports.  And heck, if they can keep the Canadians from catching up to my vaunted Yanks in number of Championships won in professional sports...all the better.

My Dad hates the Habs just because they pretty much always won the cup back in his days of youth, so if Philly wins, they're essentially his new favorite team hihi

the flyers - canadiens series has been incredible. there's nothing more stressful in sports than playoff hockey.

Guy Carbonneau is a little bitch.

this series is far from over. back to back games saturday and sunday. it's gonna be intense.

Montreal didn't seem to play one game right.... No wonder they're out.

0-2 after the second.. A really lucky break for the Penguins not getting the 2+2 from the high stick. Sure he didn't do it on purpose, but still.. The rules are very clear. Ruutu being a real pain in the ass for Jagr. Always on the edge of the rules, tonight more outside than in. Hopefully he tones it down in the third.

My heart was racing like crazy during the overtime. Shots 40 - 22, a pretty much deserved win. Some questionable officiating again. Lundqvist was amazing again. Player of the game by far for the Rangers.

Agreed.  Personally, the shots speak for themselves.  The Pens dominated the game, except for that unbelievable 3 minute period that tied the it at 2-2.  From the time overtime started until they scored, the Penguins seemed to have all the momentum.  Can't wait to see what happens with the Flyers...

Agreed completely about LUndvist. He was a lot better then his goals against will indicate. A lot of those goals you just can't blame on him. He can't do it all himself. He needs help from his defense. If the rangers get better on defense this offseason they are gonna be pretty scary i think.

the Battle of Pennsylvania. this should be great.

what the flyers have done is unbelievable. they were the worst team in the league last year. and it wasn't even close - the second worse team had 11 more points than them. and now they are in the conference finals.

all the pressure is on the Pens. AND they tanked the last game of the regular season just so they wouldn't have to face the flyers. the philly sports page headline was perfect...

"Tank's for Nothing"

I think it's weird that it's always reported as a sure fact that the Pens tanked the last game of the season on purpose. The game ended 2-0 with the last goal scored a little less than a minute left in the game (can't remember if it was an empty netter). The shots were 22-20 to Philadelphia's (who was the home team) favor. I really didn't see it as such a bad result. Or were the Flyers trying to lose the game as well?

I know that some of the Penguins don't really like playing the Flyers, so I'm not counting it out that they lost on purpose. But the ones whining about it back then seemed to be Philly fans and their coach. So was their coach crying about how they were the ones who wanted to lose the game?

I agree with sandman. The series should be great, and all pressure will be on the Penguins. And I'm sure Sid and Malkin will be targeted. Sid for the way he plays and Malkin for the comments he's made about playing against Philadelphia.

What Philadelphia has done this season has been amazing, but I'm hoping this will be the end of it.

I watched every bit of Dallas/SanJose last night and it was one of the most exciting games I have seen.  4 OT's!!!!! It was crazy with all sorts of amazing saves.

SJ were victim of the penalty and couldnt hold on

Still though, I was on the edge of my seat the entire overtimes.
