Musically, the Gunners are clearly lacking the melodic talent of their former virtuoso guitarist.

While the premise is clearly flawed, the conclusion is valid.

Virtuosity defined
In Music in the Western World by Piero Weiss and Richard Taruskin we find the following definition of virtuoso:[1]

"...a virtuoso was, originally, a highly accomplished musician, but by the nineteenth century the term had become restricted to performers, both vocal and instrumental, whose technical accomplishments were so pronounced as to dazzle the public."
The defining element of virtuosity is the performance ability of the musician in question, who is capable of displaying feats of skill well above the average performer. Musicians focused on virtuosity are commonly criticized for overlooking substance and emotion in favor of raw technical prowess. Despite the mechanical aspects of virtuosity, many virtuosi successfully avoid such labels, focusing simultaneously on other musical aspects while writing and performing music.

No, Slash isn't a virtuoso. A fan boy will not make him a virtuoso, so quit that. Ron is. Buckethead is. Slash is not.

But from that description Axl could be called a virtuoso. He can sing better than 90% of most front men today. Slash is an amzing guitarist, but he's not a virtuoso, he never claimed to be, never will.

so, change your profile, please. But well, Slash is fast, technical and does not play only pentatonic scales.

Former SKID ROW frontman Sebastian Bach has issued the following update:

"Having a blast in Auckland, New Zealand! First night we got here, turns out the band HELLYEAH is in town! We all went to the show and they tore the fucking house down!! It was great catching up with my old buds Vinnie Paul, Kat, Sterling, and meet the rest of the band, the incredible singer Chad Gray, Greg, Maxwell and Bobzilla!"

Your missing the point.

The reference was to my age; not my gender.

I'm just curious what your definition of average is , to me , it is an objective term used in statistics to define the mode , median or mean . Primarily the mean .

Thanks, as always, to the updaters.? ?ok

Cracking setlist - I'd have loved to have been at that show.? Also, great to read the glowing reviews from fans who were there; it looks as though the band have not only met expectations, but in a substantial number of cases have far exceeded them, and that can only be a positive force for band cohesion and morale.? Onwards and upwards...

Yes, the band were amazingly tight. They literally left 'us' (the Adelaide audience) gobsmacked. I don't know after which song it was, but it ended, we were all like "wow, did we just see that!!!!" and then we errupted into thunderous cheers.

That my friends, is bloody good music!

In this show was played the best ''Chinese Democracy'' I've ever heard.

Frank Ferrer speeds up the song a lot, great drumming, great backing vocals, and Axl is just on fire  beer
