I just got it, it's my first Guitar Hero experience and it ROCKS!!!

what console do you have it for?

I havn't brought any of the GH games, although I think I am going to get GHIII, as by the sound of things, it is the best of all of them. I will be buying if for the Playstation 2, as I don't have a Playstation 3 (yet  Wink )

I've got it on Wii and I've managed to buy Slash as a character...  Cheesy

Slash has lost all his credibility after being in Guitar Hero III and appearing on the cover.

The day Axl is on Rock Band's cover or anything to that extent is the day I quit supporting Guns N' Roses.
I don't care about the songs being in there, that's fine, but nothing says "washed-up has been" like appearing on a trendy videogame.

HAHAHAHA

Axl's isnt' going to be a playable character in the game.    His image isn't being used to sell games.   Axl is not a brand, nor would he turn himself into a brand because he has integrity.

Simply, a Gnr Song is on the games soundtrack, along with songs from 80+ other bands and artists.

use your fucking brain for once

I gotta agree with this one, that made me laugh quite loudly Smiley

Not that I mind Axl being on Video Game, I love that Axl does this stuff.

Hey D, why not bring the fact that Axl lent his voice to GTA into this?

I know why.... Because it ain't the same fucking thing!

Better luck next time!

Yeah, but according to D, having a song in a game (which means music) is the same as appearing on the cover art of the game, being made into a character in the same game and promoting the game.

Yes (at least as far as WTTJ being on GHIII).  This is an older thread that has seemingly found new life.

does it really matter what Slash does with his career. he already made it BIG TIME with GUNS N ROSES. remember he is a part of the foundations of the band, an even bumble, finck, bucket an fortus will tell you the same thing. i think theres been to much anti_slash goin on in this board for far too long now. fuck sake i wouldnt care if axl lent his face to the next mario game as long as his music was still good. god id hate to be in a band nowadays coz theres always a bunch of spotty teens sat behind there pc with NO LIFE slaggin off your work

No, he's free to do whatever he wants to do. It's his career and his life.

But the fact is, I don't have to agree with him talking shit about GN'R and then see him being made into a character in a video game basically thanks to him actually being in GN'R.

And then read about how he thinks video games make kids into zombies....  hihi

It wasn't his career before or after GN'R that made him what he is today (a brand). And that's something he's free to do. As I said, it's his choice.

I just think people like D, who lump what Axl is doing into the same category as what somebody like Slash is doing, are a bit off.

It's like calling a cab driver a Formula 1 race driver. Sure, both require you to drive cars, but it's not in the same league....

personally i think it would take a lot more than slash being a character in a video game to make him a brand.

im sure its all down to promotion at the end of the day. its only like guest appearing on a friends album

exactly.   one went on stage and performed with Bill Gates.  The other is simply unveiling a new song in the game.

at the Hard Rock casino here in Las Vegas, there is a Slash display and it has a guitar hero guitar signed by slash.  hihi

Geez chill guys, it was just a harmless joke. I just thought it was funny that the dude mentioned Axl putting a song in Rockband2 and now there is a song in rockband2.  just kinda cool in a way after all the years of rumors and heresay and speculation, a poster  accidentally guesses something right.

Let me stress:

There is nothing wrong with Slash being in Guitar Hero III and there is nothing wrong with Axl doing GTA or putting a song in Rockband.

I think Tom Morello is someone u could least call a sellout in  music history and he is in GHIII. I think people want to find anything to bash Slash about even stuff that isnt a big deal. Sure he has done some lame shit from time to time but Guitar Hero III was awesome and exposed him to a whole new generation of fans.

I was responding to Mr Bucketfoot and basically saying I thought his post was ridiculous cause there is nothing at all wrong with a musician being featured in a MUSIC video game.

I have problems with TV Commercials, but Music games like GH and Rockband are AWESOME!

If Axl were a character in Rockband2 that would be awesome and I would think anyone who thought otherwise would be wrong.

Slash is actually putting his name on a fashion designer video game now.

The man truly is a sellout.
