Guns N' Roses: Live at Budokan

By Doug Miller/GunsNRoses.com

An estimated 9,000 fans packed into the world famous Budokan Hall on Wednesday night to witness Guns N'Roses live in concert. For a rocking two hours, GN'R fired on all cylinders, giving their Japanese fans a concert they won't soon forget.

Axl and guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal performed "Don't Cry" to the sheer delight of the crowd. Drummer Frank Ferrer is a huge Cheap Trick fan and paid tribute to one of his idols by dressing a la Bun E. Carlos in a white shirt, black tie, and, of course, the cigarette behind his ear. Also, Bubbles from the Trailer Park Boys joined Guns onstage and performed "Liquor and Whores."

The band was proud to continue the Budokan legacy that includes The Beatles -- the first rock band to perform there back in 1966 -- and live albums by Bob Dylan, Cheap Trick in 1978 and Judas Priest's "Unleashed In The East" in 1979. You can now add Bubbles in 2007 to that illustrious list.

GN'R followed "Liquor and Whores" with "Used To Love Her," and the crowd sang and clapped their hands in support. By the time the confetti and pyro signaled the end of the final song, "Paradise City," GN'R had left an indelible mark on Tokyo.

The final concert in Japan is scheduled for Saturday night at the Osaka-Jo Hall

Nah, we'll probably get something like "Thank you for all the support during the last tour and shit". Then it will be months 'till we hear anything again.

i give it 2 weeks and there will be some sort of "update", no way it'll be a release date, but an update of some sort (i.e mixing done, turned over to record company)

some folks keep saying that it was announced that mixing was over, i dont ever remember reading that.....

On February 23, 2007, Del James announced that Chinese Democracy's recording stage was finished, and the band had now moved onto mixing the album. However, this proved that the March 6 release date would be impossible to achieve, and the album once again had no scheduled release date.[21]

agreed.

thats the point i was maing earlier, the next update of any sort, i think will tell us if the the album will be out this year. The update could be the band going to shoot a video, or just a photo of them looking at different cover art, or the actual cover art (that would be pretty cool)........

..if the next update is "see you in south america fall 2007" i think that the album maybe under wraps till next year. unfortunately.

but again, wild speculation, just my thoughts

Perhaps the lack of any future scheduled concert dates is good news for the album.  Video shoot?  Finishing touches?
