My question is why are we so fascinated with live GNR concert updates? Myself included.  We almost know what the setlist is going to be every concert in exact order, but still we are all here looking for up to the second updates about the show.  Some of us complain, some of us expect a new song, some expect nothing, or some expect a major announcement ... and time after time we get nothing but we already knew, but the next concert we are all online for every detail about the show.  It's like we all love GNR, we all want something new, we never get anything new, we get upset, but yet we always come back because we love the band ... ironic right?

On wikipedia under like "concerts" or something it says Bruce Springsteen fans in particular do this all the time (text message the setlist to the internet) but there's no mention of GNR fans.

But on the other hand, I'm sure there's a Britney Spears forum around that someone text messages whatever song comes up next on the CD at her live shows.

1.) We're all a bunch of mother hens, for one.  Cluck cluck, motherfucker!
2.) We seem to be obsessed with the idea that Axl might mention the album, on stage.
3.) We hope that someone vaguely looks like Merck, so that we can say he was there and then Beta can call us liars.
4.) We use the band's ability to not cancel as evidence that things are going well (thus, the panic that seems to set it around midnight  nervous).
5.) We hope they'll play a totally new song, so the rest of us can bitch about having not been the ones to hear it, thus giving new life to our collective sense of entitlement.
6.) They may have changed the color of the logo on the sleeve of one of the tour shirts, and that's important, damn it!

To me its just something about Guns N' Roses, I live on the east coast and stayed up to watch the Inland Invasion webcast, I try to stay up for the first few updates when they tour.  I think I do it to make sure everything goes smoothly each night, but I do hope to new There was a time also.

I dont care what's going on at another show, and all I ever want to know if there's any reasonable album details.
I dont care about the setlists, the solos, or Axl's shoes color.
I'm only hoping we get some bit of info as to how long it will take them to finish mixing, and whatever else there is yet to be done.

I just happen to love GNR and I like to know whats going on at the shows. I really stopped expecting something a long time ago so I don't get my hopes up and be let down because of my own self when they don't do something special.
