I had A beer at the Chicago show.  I'm sure I could have had many more and sobered up, but with a 2.5 hour drive home, and getting in at 4:30, I didn't want to chance it.

I really don't like being drunk at shows.  I drank too much at Roger Waters, last year, and find that I don't have as good a memory of the show as I'd like (still stellar, though).

When I saw Guns in Toronto during the 2002 tour, I was so fucked up. I didn't mind because I was seated anyhow. Smoked lots of buds, and drank my face off, from noon, till show time
When the band took the stage and the first notes of Jungle started, I sobered up. Only to feel it again afterwards.
In 2006, they came back to Toronto, and I went with a few friends that got really drunk while waiting in line outside. I stayed sober. Front row, I wanted to be sober for that.

I had 10th row tickets to see Guns at MSG in Dec 1991.  All I remember is them opening with Nightrain and being the only guy standing on my chair during Double Talkin Jive; the rest is a complete blank.   Can't throw your arms around a memory?  Bullshit.  Not remembering sucks.  Keep the smokin', snortin', shootin', suckin', tokin', poppin' and droppin' to a minimum.

A big fat one is a necessity. A little alcohol is also usefull if you're planning on the moshpit.

I've never been a big fan of getting wasted at show... but unfortunately for me I decided to break my own rule at New York on 5-14 and drink as many of the Combo Beer/Shot specials that they were selling... real bad idea, the whole concert was a blur...

Bourbon is my drink of choice. But at a gig your paying around $9 for a 300ml can. So If I am planing on gettin on it at a show, I always drink a half carton of Woodstock before I get there.
