I'm not a huge NIN fan, but this Year Zero project is a really interesting marketing idea. GnR may want to hire their marketing guys.
RS has the full story, pretty cool if you ask me.
I think this may help explain some of the references that have been posted on the board lately.

Very cool promotion they've done. I LOVED NIN back in high school (you know, because I was a pissed off teenager) but grew out of it. It's starting to appeal to me more again. I still like the "Broken" EP more than any of their other recordings.

So 1/4 of the album has been leaked already! I wonder if he's going to leak all the songs!
I've listened to "In this Twilight" several times and already I feel as though this is one of Reznor's best songs. So haunting, so infectious, so atmospheric. It just kind of gives me the chills.
I'm really looking forward to this album.

I absolutely love "In This Twilight" - If he's got better songs than this on the record, I'll be amazed and very pleased.
Awesome lyrics, too - Seems like Trent is finally pushing himself forward a bit.

After a few listens I love all the songs, sans "Survivalism" which I think is good, but nothing all that special.
Overall though, I think this is going to be an amazing album and I can't wait to hear it. I wonder why he's leaking all these songs though....

Freakin' cool! What does the hand mean? What is the meaning of the car? Is it the hand of God?

There's a little movie about the "cover", if you didn't notice already.

In This Twilight has leaked
http://www.echoingthesound.org/phpbbx/viewtopic.php?t=20724
Lyrics:
watch the sun,
as it crawls across a final time
and it feels like,
like it was a friend.
it is watching us,
and the world we set on fire
do you wonder,
if it feels the same?
and the sky is filled with light
can you see it?
all the black is really white
if you believe it
as your time is running out
let me take away your doubt
you can find a better a place
in this twilight
dust to dust,
ashes in your hair remind me
what it feels like
and I won't feel again
night descends
could I have been a better person
if I could only do it all again
and the sky is filled with light
can you see it?
all the black is really white
if you believe it
and the longing that you feel
you know none of this real
you will find a better a place
in this twilight
The way his voice sounds on that reminds me of with teethah era nin.

Also, I dont know if it's been posted, but at the end of the My Violent Heart leak, you can see The Presence by looking at it through a linear spectrometer.

^ that is pretty freaky, and cool.
i wonder if trent plans on leaking the entire album song by song every week or so before the record comes out?

At this rate he would, but what would be the point in doing that?

That's probably what he'll do. Before they played Survivalism before he said that everyone would be able to hear it before it's out.

yeah but no one knows if he was referring to it being leaked on torrent sites or the fact that he will eventually release all the songs one by one.
i think he will in fact leak the songs intentionally tho, they have been leaked to go along with the marketing game that was created, as well as to coincide with days like valentines day (my violent heart) and even the oscars(In This Twilight). i cant find it now but "In This Twilight" was also leaked with a picture of the famous "hollywood" sign falling apart.

Who picked up the new DVD,
Beside you in time
? I picked up a copy this morning but wont get a chance to watch it until tonight.
Also, on another note, on the subway yesterday I heard some guy listening to the new leaks on his ipod. They're all stuck in my head!
Can't wait until April!

Nah...both are great, but AATCHB is far superior. Not only in the actual performance (Fragile 2.0 tour was the best..) but there are no easter eggs in BYIT

Come on dude. Trent Reznor writes all the songs and plays almost everything on the CD. How can Robin Finck have been the best part of the band? If Aaron North left NIN to join GN'R, would he also be the best part of NIN?
