Great lyrics! Almost as good as my personal favourite NIN song
piggy
hey pig
yeah you
hey pig piggy pig pig pig
all of my fears came true
black and blue and broken bones you left me here i'm all alone
my little piggy needed something new
nothing can stop me now
i don't care anymore
nothing can stop me now
i just don't care
hey pig
nothing's turning out the way i planned
hey pig there's a lot of things i hoped you could help me understand
what am i supposed to do i lost my shit because of you
nothing can stop me now
i don't care anymore
nothing can stop me now
i just don't care
nothing can stop me now
you don't need me anymore
Damn, i could never have written such brilliant lyrics - i just.....couldn't

Atleast 2 songs have leaked, The Hand That Feeds and Line Begins to Blur
The leak of Hand That Feeds is a copy of a copy of a copy of a radiorip*? with audioquality that is apparently almost as shitty as the lyrics..not touching it myself.
Line Begins to blur is very ok. .Nothing that starts revolutions and opens new ways to create music or anything. And certainly doesn't sound like an important "signature song" of the album either. parts of it sound alot like Smashing Pumpkins though. Steady and very noticeable drumroll and disortion guitars that reminds? of Fragile.
Same for me. The Hand That Feeds sounded quite uninspired, while the other song is good, but nothing special.

piggy
Yeah, Piggy has great set of lyrics.
Lyrics&way Reznor sings them, combined with ultra-phat drumming by Chris Vrenna creates a neat threatening sulking stalker - type of a vibe.
You should listen the live version on AATCHB, it is even beter than the album version.
Reznor has written his fair share of cheesy and shitty lyrics, I find it rather irrational you are using Piggy as a cornerstone in your seemingly endless Anti-NiN crusade battle against nindmills. (< - - - - HAHAHA!I replaced W with N there. OmgZ I rule.)
black and blue and broken bones you left me here i'm all alone
Come on!

Mayhab that is why Cash&co aren't covering your shitty live journal poems you arrogant little fukhed
Now, I'm one of the first 22000 NiN fans to admit that Reznor's talent is definately not in the lyric writing-departmnent...but rather, in creating absolutely amazing noise/sound/music.I can't even begin to descripe how much I like some of the (half)instrumentals he has created.
He has plenty of lyrics that really, really hit the nerve(Hurt, The Becoming, I'm Looking Forward Joining You are among the best lyrics ever written!) but still, the amount of whiny lyrics that just don't do it for you if you are over 16 is..well too large. He definately should explore new grounds on lyric departemnt. The few pure Angst! songs that for some reason found their way on Fragile are crap.
Hmm..Then again...would I want my Downward Spiral one bit less depressed and dark and moody?...or a broken that is less angry? - Nope!

Did i strike a nerve? Little insecure about the band?
Those lyrics are weak, are u honestly saying that repeating the word piggy for 5 mins is lyrical brilliance?
Fair enough.

Why does it seem like you're posting threads or posting in threads about bands you don't even like?
I heard "The Line Begins To Blur" and it kinda reminds me of the Broken EP.... More a band feel to it for some reason.

Because i'm always open to changing that view, ya know 'expanding my horizons', i heard NIN where trying a new style with this album and thought i'd keep up with events to see if its worth buying/copying etc.
What's the point of just checking threads about bands u like? After all - ur already converted, if i hear a strong case for a band i go give their stuff a listen
I must confess NIN's lyrics do amuse me, i couldn't resist a pop, i'll behave now.

Yes. Isn't it clear how every letter in the sentence you quoted just screams the fact that I am boiling with a blind rage here?
Your clever, well put and hard hitting criticism of NiN really did hit a nerve.
If "omg! he sayz pig like, ALL the time there, lol!" is all you get from piggy...er,well it just isn't a song for you then.
I have no desire to feed a pesky troll more than I already have, or sink into childish "my band roxorez more than ur band"-argument.
You hate em NiN all the way man
Couldn't resist the temptation and got the radiorip of Hand That Feeds.
God! That is a pure pop-song-radio hit!All hooky and catchy. I guess it's going to have heavy rotation.
Not really liking what I hear there. There are too many bands out there that could have written a song just like this. Not a bad song at all per se, but mehh, I wanted NiN to go more Still-esque direction.
Can't wait to hear a version that wasn't encoded from some 20 year old Russian mono casette though.

Personally, Id recommend
Pretty Hate Machine
.
Not only is it the appropriate place to start chronologically, but its NINs best album. Its more dance-based and not as angry or abrasive as
The Downward Spiral
. Theres actually something kind of charming about the relatively primitive drum programming and synth-work. Its very reflective of its time (late '80s) and to me, thats a good thing. Most of the songs are also very catchy and darkly fun, as opposed to the full-on harshness of
TDS
(which is also a great album, just a very different vibe). "Something I Can Never Have" is also one of Reznors best ballad-type songs.
However, if you prefer a louder, angrier, relentlessly nihilistic album, pick up
The Downward Spiral
.
Or just get both.

Booker, you didnt like Fragile?
My introduction to NIN was TDS (it had such a huge impact on me as a 15 yr old, it's funny looking back on it) and I only bought Pretty Hate Machine after that. But I listen to Fragile more than the other two. From the feelings evoked by 'The Frail' to the witty lyrics of 'Starfuckers' - there's a lot to digest and ponder over.

Downward Spiral made me love NIN... IMO it's their best album. Pretty Hate Machine is too much 80s sounding, although it has some great songs (Something I Can Never Have, Head Like a Hole etc.). Fragile can be too much for the first try as it is a double album with fillers.

Yeah, I liked
The Fragile
, but not as much as the other two. I dont feel the instrumentals very much, and many of the other songs are simply okay. However, there are some great tracks: "Were In This Together," "The Fragile," "Starfuckers, Inc." and a few others.

IMO - "The Fragile" is Trent's finest hour. A brilliant work of art and music that stands alone - not dated to any particular point in time. "With Teeth" has some heavy shoes to fill but will probably be a great album. I'm looking forward to it.

hmmmm thanx guys, i'm still not sure lol, not your fault. I guess i really can't go wrong with any one of them right? i dunno i get really emotinal with music sometimes so i think i'll wait on
The Downward Spiral
since that looks the most depressing haha u guys are probably laughing at me asking yourselves if i dont like depressing music then why am i getting into Nine Inch Nails?...But i dunno from what i've read
The Downward Spiral
does look the most depressing so i think i'll wait on that. I have downloaded some songs from
PrettyHateMachine
and i like them alot but i dunno, theres something about
The Fragile
from what i've read and just the songs i've listened to from it, i think i'll start off with that, and its a double album so it should keep me busy for a while. Thanx alot guys hopefully this new album will be great.

I agree 100 percent. I really like "The Fragile."
On another note, yesterday I got tickets to see NIN on 5/12 and 5/13. Both shows sold out in like three minutes.
