?We had a chip on our shoulder about Soundgarden because their record [Superunknown] came out the same day Downward Spiral came out, and they beat us to No. 1 on Billboard. That became a kind of professional showdown. And we did show them.?

?I really have no personal issue with Chris at all,? he begins. ?The thing I said on Twitter? it goes deeper than what have may appeared on the surface. We were on [Interscope]. And I have had Jimmy Iovine, the president of that label, come up to me on every record from With Teeth onwards saying I should do some sort of urban thing ? it was Timbaland for a while, then it was Pharrell for a while ? because ?that?s how you sell records.? The idea seemed so preposterous and insulting.

"I?m not talking about ?let?s go make a record with Dr. Dre,? because that would be kind of cool. What he?s talking about is making your record sound like what?s on the radio, whether it?s appropriate or not. And that?s what Chris did. I think that when somebody who is respected like he is goes that route, it sends the message that it?s OK to give up any kind of core values you had to be the fashion of the moment. I don?t think that?s OK. I think it?s harmful. If I have one major fight in the world of the music business, it?s trying to keep art first and commerce second.?

Trent Reznor Taken Ill Prior To NIN Show

NIN mainman Trent Reznor had to cancel one of the band?s final shows after being taken to hospital.

Reznor had to cancel NIN?s show at the Henry Fonda Thater in Los Angeles, CA, on doctor?s orders.

A band statement reads: ?We?re very sorry to announce that Trent is ill, and on his doctor?s orders we will not be able to perform tonight?s show at the Henry Fonda Theater. This is the only information we have at this time, we?re posting this early announcement as a convenience for those of you who had plans to attend. Reimbursement details will be posted as soon as we figure them out; likely within the next 24 hours. We wish this wasn?t necessary and we?re very sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding.?

At the current time, there is no word as to whether or not this will affect the band?s other scheduled performances.

And he says that he almost cancelled the show in Chicago because he was ill, from a post on this forum...

I'll tell you a secret - we almost canceled because I woke up sick and unable to talk complete with chills, etc. I spent all day sleeping trying to shake it but still felt terrible walking to the stage... then something happened and by the end I felt great. Weird.

For Ves, had to wake him up at 2am to let him know so he won't bother waking up early to make line to the tickets. I would rather him postpone the next show this way when he comes back he is 100%
