NIN to Play 10 More U.S. Shows Before Calling it Quits07.13.2009
Trent Reznor told the crowd at Bonnaroo several weeks ago that Nine Inch Nails? show at the annual festival in Manchester, Tenn., would be the band?s last U.S. show. But wait, he?s had a change of heart.
Turns out Reznor and his band will give U.S. fans one more intimate chance to bask in the glory of all that is NIN before its rides off into the sunset.
Beginning with a show at New York City?s famed Bowery Ballroom on Aug. 22, NIN will play 10 more U.S. shows in all. After the Bowery, the band will head across town to Webster Hall for another small venue performance on Aug. 23, then to Terminal 5, also in New York City, for two shows on Aug. 25-26.
NIN will then head to Chicago for two shows, and then to Los Angeles for four shows at four different venues.
Reznor lamented earlier this year that while NIN?s recent tour with Jane?s Addiction was to be the end of the band, he?d felt that those shows were ?rushed? and not the proper send off for the band. The clubs on the Wave Goodbye Tour, which hold 500-800 fans per venue, will provide a more suitable backdrop for the band?s final performances, and will allow them to perform longer sets.
Ticketing for several of the shows will be handled exclusively through the band?s Web site. Sales for these shows ? Aug. 22-23, and Sept. 3 and 6 ? are facilitated by MusicToday and begin July 17.
As usual, NIN will handle the presales for its U.S. tour dates starting on July 17. Public onsale dates for these shows begin July 31. All presales and regular sales start at 5 p.m. local time.
To access the exclusive sales and presales, ticket buyers must be registered with and logged in at the band?s Web site. Fans are also encouraged to set up a payment account beforehand with MusicToday to save time during the checkout process.
