damn it.   from the very first time i heard The Warning I pictured Robin wailing away on that riff with his guitar.

His current look would be fine for GNR, although his jesus look has more of a Robin signature.

well people used to call him a goth. I agree that his current look would be a perfect match with axl's kroq look.

He didn't wear make-up.

I think he's wearing makeup tho.

and that makes him look a bit chinese/oriental.

-When I saw Finck before Stone Temple Pliots was about to start, a group of people were doing a Robin Finck chant, he moved and hid behind people
-During Hurt, Finck guitar wasn't working and Trent had his eyes close and about to sing and he look to his left and was thinking  "WTF is going on?"
-During 1,000,000 Finck threw his guitar pedels
- Finck threw some water bottles during the show
-The body guards had little meeting during the shows, before NIN came on, there boss said that trent was going to get off stage and walk the passageway and the band was going to throw equipments (drumsticks,mics,guitar picks...etc "small things") but it never happend 
- And yes Finck did his GN'R moves..ha

It was lap steel. Finck was playing it during "The Warning". Also he played a flute during a ghost song (Ghost 1) and a rain maker thing during another ghost song( don't know which one)

I saw two of his GN'R guitar. The gold gibson(it was beat up) and the purple gibson

My hope was trashed when I saw this new dates (I had the hope that Robin will be on NIN until Sept. 6th)...Today, I think that Robin will be on VMAs...Another hope to break??

Some things I noticed about Robin at the NIN show @Lolla. Of course I was in the middle of a war zone with security in front climbed on the rail to pull body after body out, and so my view was blocked a lot of the time and it was very hard to stay focused. So, some of the things may be inaccurate:

Robin's on stage performance is completely different than when in GN'R:
- his look is obviously different
- his clothing is different
- his moves are different
- his guitars are different
- his connecting with the fans is different
- only the backup vocals bring some resemblance
If you didn't know it was him you would never guess.
Robin was the only one (I think) who was wireless.
He didn't wear make-up.
His guitar tech who was at every GN'R show wasn't there.
He was the only one from the band who wasn't spotted watching other bands sets that day.
He played keys on Vessel and/or The Warning

I think he played something other than guitar on some of the Ghosts too but not sure what it was.
When Trent introduced the band, he said he has some of the best musicians in the business and started with Robin.


As for comparisons, I think he fits pretty well in either band:



I'd guess there were 40-50K watching the NIN set and a little less for Kanye on the opposite end. Radiohead and Rage didn't have such competition (Kanye is a Chicago local) and drew almost all 75K.

leatherebel mention that Robin is different in NIN than GN'R. I was making a joke about it cause i didn't really understand that his moves are different. Robin's stage performance to me is the same in both GN'R / NIN
