Pics fron nin.com (by Rob Sheridan):
^BTW, I'm on that one - front row rail, middle of the pic, RF black shirt.....
Took only 8 hrs of camping in 90+ heat to have that spot. During show: After having my sunglasses broken in three, my shirt torn, losing my shoes, losing my friends around me, and having the fat security ppl over my head the entire time pulling body after body and thus blocking my view of the stage, I got pretty pissed and decided to get out of there mid show. That batshit insane crowd right behind us kinda ruined it for me, but it was still a great show. I guess that's what happens when you have just one rail in the front and then a mile of open space behind. I hope nobody was seriously hurt although I witnessed unconscious people being carried out. The inability of Trent (unlike Zack from Rage) to see what's going on in the front or not wanting to do or say anything about it was pretty disappointing. It's funny how just 100 feet behind or to the sides the crowd was very mellow and allowed for rocking and actually enjoying the show, as opposed to fighting for survival.
Slash was among the VIPs on the balcony watching the NIN set.
Walking barefoot on the streets of downtown Chicago afterwards was something that had never crossed my mind could happen to me....oh well, once in a life time I guess.
Some more cool pics that my friends took. I specifically instructed them to take as many Robin shots as possible:

fucking awesome show!
the set list was really great and the crowd was going crazy. of course i must say the crowd did have quite a few jackasses; people bitching during the Ghost material ("hurry up!" "finish the song already!") because they "want to mosh!", and the idiots moshed at inappropriate times. im sorry but Closer is not a "mosher" (no the real fans in my book, they're the ones that would yell for "that Fuck You Like An Animal song"). i had no idea trents voice was messed up, even after he mentioned it. and during The Greater Good the flashlight/wiping effect didnt quite work that well, but the crowd got the general idea. i was hoping for a few more screens during Survivalism, like the "censored by US Morality" screen, but it doesnt matter because it was awesome anyway! i couldnt believe how insane people were going for a few songs, not because the songs aren't awesome, because they are, but more because of people really wanting to mosh. oh and as for the visuals- fucking amazing! i recommend when you see the screens come down to get a good distance back to fully appreciate them. In This Twilight is really cool, and i loved the end Zero-Sum piano (if im not mistaken). fucking awesome show.
highlights would have to be all the new material played. the slip material rocked, year zero was mesmerizing, and ghosts was absolutely stunning, i could easily go to a concert of just ghosts tracks. the older material is still fantastic though, and actually even better! the line-up for this tour is superb: alley ruled. josh tore it up, especially on Piggy! justin kicked ass, he really got into it (that fist in the air really did it). i got giddy seeing robin kick ass as well. and trent, fucked up throat and all, rocked the place.
i couldnt control where my body was going during the beginning of NIN either. it got pretty insane. i would say more so than rage for me. at rage i knew what to expect and was able to hold my ground, i wasnt expecting the crowd to get that crazy for NIN. see? it all depends on where you are, and what your expecting. of course there are the few jackass frat boys looking to push people, they were at NIN too, but aside from them thats how a rage show goes. check out the live dvds. i think there were quite a few people who watched the band beforehand and thought "hey i made it through that, i can make it through rage!" nope. people werent expecting it and thats what happened

Actually, I'm not so sure who took the good quality pics but they were put in the same album where a couple friends were uploading their lolla pics. Given the quality and the amount of pushing in the front I kinda doubt they were taken by them...I'll ask later when people wake up.

thanks!
surreal to think slash (with ex Janes Addiction singer?) watching robin play with NIN.
about trent not being like zack,
earlier I read many articles reporting the place wasn't as disastrous as yesterday.
"Despite the intensity of the music, the crowd doesn?t respond with the mindless violence that interrupted Rage Against the Machine?s performance on several occasions the night before. It could be that Rage directs its anger outward, whereas Reznor?s music internalizes all of the pain and frustration (?I?m all alone,? he yelps on the scalding ?Terrible Lie?). "

Despite Inconsistencies, Nine Inch Nails Provide Big Impact
8/4/08, 1:05 am EST
It?s hard to dislike Trent Reznor: the guy regularly gives away excellent music, goes out of his way to design a visually stunning stage show and even fought through voice problems tonight. While his set got off to a fast start with a hard-hitting combination of ?1,000,000″ and ?Discipline? (both from The Slip) and delivered ?Closer? early, Reznor soon settled into some of the complex instrumentals from the Ghosts I-IV album. While the combination of live instrumentation was impressive (when was the last time you saw a rock show with a marimba solo?), the crowd?s interest waned, even with the dynamic lighting display matching the music note for note. It wasn?t until Reznor hit the back half of his set ? lead by insane shout-alongs on ?Wish,? ?Terrible Lie? and ?Only? ? that the fans really got on board with his particular blend of stadium-sized pathos. During his encore, Reznor mentioned that Nine Inch Nails played the first Lollapalooza 17 years ago, which was a tribute not only to Reznor?s tenacity but also the staying power of the fest.

Most impressive show I've seen. Robin and Josh especially dominate in NIN. 15,000 people at Toronto got a big treat tonight. The Slip sounds way better live too.

Yeah, the Toronto show was absolutely incredible, me and my Dad both had an awesome time.
Security was beyond lame though, and what was with half the crowd walking around in Tool shirts?
If you didn't know any better you would have thought you were going to see Tool
I enjoyed every song they played, but "Terrible Lie" and "Head Like A Hole" were probably my favorites
Enjoy the show folks, it's killer

He looks cool as hell! I prefer is grungy, industrial look to his 2006 look. IMHO his coolest look was on the 2002 tour, especially when he put the helmet and sunglasses on for LALD.

Yeah, I still think NIN is his home and where he fits in best. He is a bit androgynous for GNR.
I have tickets for Tuesday but Im thinking about not going. Its almost a 2 hour drive and Im feeling like a pussy and dont know if I want to make the trip.

Robin is awesome in NIN and he's awesome in GnR. In GnR he gets to play a lot more beautiful solos and stuff, but he does some great shit in NIN as well. He hits in both bands perfectly for what he does.
and he always looks fuckin awesome. His hippie jesus look was cool but he looks more like himself without the beard and with the funky hair-do. i hope he goes back to the skullet like he had at RIR III.
Don't be a pussy D. Go!
