6.05.2008: NEW BAND - NEW TOUR SAMPLER
I am proud to announce the final personnel lineup of nine inch nails for the foreseeable future. We've added, we've subtracted and we've wound up with unquestionably the strongest lineup I've EVER had. Joining me onstage will be Robin Finck, Alessandro Cortini, Josh Freese and Justin Meldal-Johnsen.
We've been working on something really special for these shows and so far I couldn't be happier with the results. We'll be revealing some live performances shortly here on nin.com - in the meantime, we've posted some photos from rehearsals up on Flickr here.
Best,
TR

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Nine Inch Nails has reshuffled its new touring lineup announced in early April, with bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Beck, Garbage) replacing British musician Rich Fownes.

Frontman Trent Reznor will also be backed by Robin Finck (who spent years in NIN prior to a recently ended stint in Guns N' Roses), drummer Josh Freese and keyboardist Alessandro Cortini on a North American trek that begins July 25 at British Columbia's Pemberton Festival.
"We've added, we've subtracted and we've wound up with unquestionably the strongest lineup I've EVER had," Reznor said on NIN's Web site (

). "We've been working on something really special for these shows and so far I couldn't be happier with the results."

U are the fucking Lead Guitar player for Guns N Roses.
So if he wants to be with Trent, The hell with him.

how many times did you go see them live last time they were on tour? you are talking to someone who spent thousands traveling to see the band multiple times.

if nothing else is happening, why can't they do other things? Is Ron disloyal for doing a solo album? Was Tommy disloyal for touring with Soul Asylum. What about Brain taking some time off to be with his family?

again, the band and management are working to get the album released. Robin's part is DONE. he won't be needed again until its time to rehearse for the next tour. Mysteron says there is no plans to tour until the album plans are finalized, therefore, Robin (and everyone else in the band) is free to do side projects.

he's been on board for the last 10 years. He's also played some amazing shows with Trent so is it wrong for him to play some more if he isn't doing anything in GnR at the moment? the real question here is, are you on board? I don't think so. I think you are more interested in the ex-members then you are the guys actually in the band. So you complain day in and day out about the guys in the band, thats the underlying reason.

I don't think this is a side project. If so, why all the secrecy? Why don't GN'R and their management know anything about it? Why didn't Robin make an announcement saying anything? The way this whole thing has been done makes everyone believe that something is surely wrong.

Last time Robin toured with Trent, he did announce he was leaving GNR. I think if leaving GnR was his intention, he would have said something.

wasnt Axl talkin about "Contracts"
maybe that had something to do with bandmembers.
maybe robin chose to not Re-up with the band.
He doesnthave to announce he is leaving if he is a free agent cause technically he wouldnt be leaving.
Spending money to travel does not mean u are a "BIGGER" fan. thats just ridiculous.
So i guess a millionaire who goes to every show is a bigger fan.
that doesnt make u a bigger fan, maybe a richer fan.
Im a poor college student who has just enough to eat and survive. I unfortunately cant travel but would if i had the means so Jim Bob, that doesnt mean shit pal.
they CANCELLED the only show close to me im Nashville, so not really my fault i couldnt go see them.
they also had a RUPP ARENA date they changed.
So once again, not my fault but I do have a shit ton of boots etc. and GNR are more than music to me and i guarantee have impacted my life way more than most.
If he is gone, cya later pal
if u leave Axl high and dry i have no respect at all for u.

well, in 2000 when Robin went to tour for Fragility 1.0, his contract was up, and he announced that.
also, if he didn't re-up, I don't think GnR would have made the statement they did on their website last month.

I have a tattoo of Axl on my forearm
So get some of that JIM BOB!
U are probably a bigger nugnr fan overall but u are nowhere near as big an AXL fan.
I am seeing NIN in August, so i will hold up a big sign that says "Where's Axl" or "Why Robin Why?"
Or even better yet
"Jim bob from vegas sends his love"
or
Will U Marry me? Jim bob

Second half of Slip Really doing it for me.
Piling layer after layer of noise/sound on top of each other, timing it all JUST right and finding such beautiful harmony between them is what Reznor does best. Sadly he hasn't really gone knee deep in any of that after
Still.
Not until now.
Still can't believe this motherfucker is free, haha.
Corona Radiata is my favorite song on here. I love how it begins with an ethereal feeling and then drags you down, down, down, definitely knee-deep into a chaos of layers and textures. I feel this sense of anticipation and dread whenever I hear it.

Sorry, but Robin has been involved with Chinese Democracy since it started.
Thats longer than most bands life span, and is certainly loyal due to the lack of shows (until they did a proper tour in 06/07)
So he hardly doesn't care about it.
So what if hes with NIN? He's in an active band, hes out doing what bands do. Performing.
You can't blame a musician for wanting to go out and showcase material. Be it their own or someone elses.

Yepp, it's great. Just ends too soon. It has this prelude vibe going on. Which is a shame in a sense that it is easily strong enough to stand with its own feet. Yet part of you keeps saying "ohh, ehh it was just an intro?!" once it ends and Four of us.. begins.
