heres an overview of everything:

http://www.metalhammer.co.uk/news/article/?id=45987

apperently because Trent mentioned Public Enemy as an influence some people on echoingthesound thought it was going to be a hip-hop record. I didn't think Trent cared enough to pay attention to what the fans think but he responded in his blog:

"Let me clear a few things up so some of you don't kill yourselves (or maybe you now will). This is not a fucking hip hop record, for fuck's sake. "

Chinese Democracy out 2014!

« Reply #581 on: January 18, 2007, 03:27:11 AM »

Ok so I finally decided to buy myself a copy of With Teeth. I've never heard Nine Inch Nails before (as far as I know), I don't know anything about the band and I'm not very familiar with industrial music overall. So I just gotta tell you guys, I love this record. I don't know about their other albums or songs but this really got into me in the first listening. All The Love In The World, The Hand That Feeds and Home are my favourites right now. So I didn't waste my 8,99? smoking

Can anyone suggest me any other albums by this band, what should I get next?

All of NIN's albums are great. Pretty Hate Machine kinda has a bit of an 80's feel with the synth, but it ain't 80's if that makes sense, and is also probably the closest style to With Teeth. The Downward Spiral is Trent at is his most pissed off and angriest electro-industrial chaos and it is brilliant. The Fragile is NIN's UYI equivalent, epic is the word. While With Teeth goes back to a more straight-forward approach.

But if you like With Teeth that much, get them all. You won't be disappointed. ok

Yeah that sums it up fairly well. Dont forget about Broken though, its an EP that was released between Pretty Hate Machine and The Downward Spiral. get Broken before you get The Downward Spiral, its a nice preview to what comes next. Be warned though, The Downward Spiral is very tough to get it into at first. When i first listened to it i was like what the fuck is this? its just a bunch of noises!!? i had a pretty hard time myself until it finally "clicked". its a very abrasive and harsh record. The Fragile and The Downward Spiral are definitely the toughest to get into.

The Downward Spiral. Get the deluxe edition so you'll get the bonus tracks as well.  Cool

Then depending on your preferences:

Pretty Hate Machine (electronic, synth)
Broken (pretty straight forward guitars, keyboards etc. Don't forget to check out tracks #98 & #99)
The Fragile (double album, takes a while to get into)

Then get the live album (And All That Could Have Been)

Then start collecting the remix albums.

The Downward Spiral is of course excellent,? but as a fan my personal favorite is The Fragile, without a doubt. an epic masterpiece. one of the most achingly beautiful and stunningly brutal albums i've ever heard.

I love NiN  though I prefer TDS over the rest with Broken/Fixed coming in close behind.

so how many people will listen to the new album when it leaks probably over a month early again??. i know i will simply because im at college in the middle of the nowhere. So even if i did wait till it officially came out, i wont be able to get my hands on it until i go home to visit at some point. ( i will of course still buy it when i get the chance)

on the website for the new DVD, http://halo22.nin.com/, they are releasing a new clip every week. it looks incredible. at first i was tentative cuz And All That Could Have been kicked so much ass as a live DVD and i didnt think another live DVD is really necessary,  but this looks like it will have enough new songs to be worth purchasing.

I'll try  to restrain myself for once. Gonna  allow myself One song from the album once it leaks. Honest. Grin
Won't be reading  any reviews by fans or media until I have heard it myself. I don't want to get my own hopes up or down and I don't want to know what to expect.

yeah thats what i tried to do with the last Tool record and i cracked like a week or two before it came out. so i gave up on trying to wait. i figured once its availabe i'll dig in.

maybe for other artists? i could wait but i am obsessed with Nine Inch Nails and i am the most excited for this album than any other record coming out this year, with the exception of Chinese Democracy of course.? smoking
