i just read this article and after it critiques the leaks up to May 07 it mentions that some of the magazine staff members have heard 'versions of Rhiad And The Bedouins, Prostitue, Atlas Shrugged...and Silkworms'.  Rhiad and Silkworms could be the live bootlegs or remasters widely available but not Prostitute or Atlas Shrugged. Are we allowed to discuss this?

No.

The magazine also asked me to remove all scans so those won't be posted here.

That's cool. I understand the bit about the magazine scan and etc, but why can't we discuss these 'new' songs that haven't leaked, or is it a discussion for another topic such as the chinese democracy frustration thread?

http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/board/index.php?topic=45983.0

Or is all speculative chinese democracy talk off limits?

We don't discuss the leaks, and until there's at least an official tracklisting, I don't know why you'd wanna guess how the unheard unknown tracks will sound like.....

So what can actually be discussed about 'The New Album' here?? Huh

http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/releases/newalbum.htm

This is the first page dedicated to the new album.

From here there are many questions which could be raised and discussed.

Is 'Chinese Democracy' the official title of the album?

The tentative release date of March 6th 2007 has passed, Is there a new one?

Is anyone familiar with the works of Sean Bevan (Producer)?

Is anyone familiar with the works of Critter, Caram Costanzo (Engineer), Eric Caudieux (Pro Tools) & Dan Monti (Assistant Engineer) (Engineering)?

Is anyone familiar with Roy Thomas Baker [2000?-2002],Bob Ezrin (A&R),Paul Buckmaster (Arrangements) (Additional Production)?

What do you think of the songwriting talents of the line up who weren't involved in GN'R 87-93?

We can discuss songs played live? (Rhiad, Silkworms)

What about songs that have been played live and have been leaked? (Chinese Democracy, The Blues, Madagascar, There Was A Time, I.R.S., Better and Catcher In The Rye)

What about rumoured songs that have apparently been heard? (Prostitue, Sorry &? Atlas Shrugged)

Or just rumoured song titles? (Seven, The General, Thyme)

The point i'm trying to make is i'm unclear about what we can and what we can't chat about here regarding the new album. The above questions are ones many newcomers reading this page may want to enquire about. I'm not a frequent poster, but i only post in topics i have an actual opinion about as opposed to all the rumours etc, but when i do post i feel a bit like im unsure about wether i can post what i want to post. I visit here almost everyday to see what snippets of news are happening in th GN'R world, and i read another two forums, though don't post there as i feel this has the best discussions/good moderators. Could there be a definitive 'Important Topic' about what not to talk about?

Right now, the only thing we don't like you to discuss are the leaks.

It's also kinda difficult to have a thread about something else regarding the album, since it seems people will always mention the leaks. Then the discussion changes from what it originally was about to being about the leaks.

Yes. I started a thread called 'Today's GnR and the Fat Guitar Sound' where I was curious about the 'guitar sound' of 'new' lineup. I was listening to some 'old' GnR and noticed the guitars in the background were really rockin' out al la fat 70s style and I wanted to know if the new lineup made more use of the guitar bits. I was, of course thinking "well how do the old songs sound today as played by the new band". I'm too old to be thinking about the 'new' songs. I heard somewhere that Axl was making more use of the guitars in the 'old' songs and rockin' them out more.

And what do you know......along came a leakster.....to infiltrate the thread!

So be clear if you want to talk about the music......people will try!
