I would be very skeptical unless something has been published in a peer review journal
Well, peer medical reviews have published about " parental alienation" when they never researched wether the guy that talked about it was serious or not.
Turns out he is a convincted pedophile who had natural reasons to want his own child back and who invented a medical reason to brand within courts of justice.
The actual medical state of parental alienation was never proven medically, and yet, it was published everywhere.
What i'm getting at is that peer reviews are nothing but another magazine, in which you will find utter truths and utter bollocks.
And seeing the discovery channel are pretty serious, i wouldn't disclose it myself.
Peer Review is the ONLY CREDIBLE source for scientific information , otherwise one ends up with a bunch of stupid shit theories to explain things that could be explained rationally w/o resorting to myth and an absence of logic. (I.E: astrology , UFO abductions , ID , Homeopathy , ect. , ect. , ect.)
