thanks god the pittsburgh line went up to +3!!!!!!
wow! what an awesome game. especially from a point spread standpoint. i feel exhausted. wow! that was my lock of the week and luckily i stayed away from the skins.
and i like this jags team. i'm glad they won. they will give the pats or colts a game. the pats OL is significantly better that pitts, but the jags consistently got pressure with only 4 guys rushing. and they run the ball well. Garrard had not made any big mistakes until tonight. eliminate those and this is a blow out. if he plays steady vs. the pats, it should bea great gaem.

Axl4prez is 2-0 as well thus far...but here's the deal. The Patriots will win against Jacksonville. The Chargers will win vs. the Titans...and the Colts.
I must say while I thought the Jags would win, I was rooting for the Steelers. I really like Hines Ward and the ex-Vikes D. coordinator Mike Tomlin, but going for 2 down 28-23 was alright......after the 10 yard penalty erasing the fantastic catch by Ward though was dumb in my eyes. I know Madden said he would have done the same thing, but I still think there was plenty of time left. 28-24 would have left enough time to go up by 3 towards the end, or tie the game if the Jags got a field goal.
Anybody else agree??

absolutely. they lost by 2 points. if they kick PATs, they have those 2 points.
roethlisberger cost them the game. a couple of those INTs were just horrible.

I'm 0-2, but since we've both picked the Chargers, something's gotta give, right? But don't just count Tennessee out. Fisher is a great coach, and if they play the game they're capable of, they can certainly beat any team coached by Norv.
Of course, if they did, the Pats would kill 'em, but that's another story.
I was right (sort of) about the Jags. They are undisciplined, as was easily seen in first half penalties (and missed penalties), but Pittsburgh just didn't take advantage, making far too many mistakes.

Yeah. Then again, Madden rides a bus from town to town, like he's the blood mobile.

I'm glad you guys agree. 2 point conversions are difficult enough regularly, but from the 12 yard line? Crazy.
...and yes Sandman, Big Ben has to take most of the brunt, but the defense and special teams can share some blame as well.
How about David Garrard! To think he lost 35 pounds in the hospital due to Krohn's disease and had what, 12 inches of intestine removed? Good for him. That 32 yard run was back-breaking for the Steelers. What a play! He also lost his mom to breast cancer. I really feel good for the guy. He seems like a great team player.

congrats to the G-Men. Damn, I should have known. The Bucs were having trouble selling-out the game. When the home team can't sell-out, that's not a good sign.
I'm 2-1 and confident the Chargers will make that 3-1.
Freedom, I can't wait until that Chargers-Colts matchup next week.

Hey D! You've got some 'splainin' to do about V.Y.!
I thought he was supposed to be the 4th quarter man. He looked dreadful when the pressure was on...like those situational stats from this season pointed out much earlier in this thread.
Hey Freedom, if Antonio Gates is out next week, that may change my Chargers pick...that's a crucial injury. You Colts' fans may have lucked out big time!

We'll see. Then again, I think the Colts will destroy them, regardless.

I do not believe in chasing points.
Especially with over 10 minutes to go.
Theoretically, he thought, he the 2 and then we are down a FG but it came back to really hurt him because the 2pt conversion is one of the hardest plays in football to convert.
I am really worried about the NYGiants next week.
As a Dallas fan, it is hard to beat a team 3 times in one season and since the cancer Jeremy Shockey got hurt, the Giants have been a lot better.
They look very dangerous, especially with that pass rush.
I got Seattle vs Dallas
Indy vs NE
I think jacksonville can win but I wouldnt bet on them straight up.
Bret Favre will do like he has done the past several huge games and throw a shit load of picks against Seattle and they will beat GB.
Favre to me, has gotten overrated late in his career.
I heard some announcers spinning it horribly, saying how "Favre got hurt against Dallas and they almost won"
Well Dallas were destroying GB cause Favre sucked and it was only after he got hurt and Rodgers came in that GB were able to come back.

Jaguars @ Patriots
--- Though I like the Steelers more than the Jags, I'm still glad the Jags won. I figure the Steelers have already had their chance to beat the Pats and failed, so let the Jags have a shot. I think this is an intriguing match-up, one I've been hoping for. The Jags have a great run game, a pretty good defense, and a QB who rarely makes mistakes. If this was in the regular season, I think the Jags could pull off the upset. But I just can't see that happening in the playoffs, especially not in Foxborough.
Pats win.
Chargers @ Colts
--- The Chargers didn't really play that great this past weekend. LT had a hard time rushing. They'll have to play a lot better than that if they hope to beat the Colts. I know the Chargers beat the Colts earlier this year, but that was only by 2 pts. and Peyton threw like 6 INTs. I think this game will be really close, but you can't have an AFC playoffs without the every-year Colts vs. Patriots game.
Colts win.
Seahawks @ Packers
--- Brett Favre. Lambeau Field. 'Nuff said.
Packers win.
Giants @ Cowboys
--- This is my upset special. The Cowboys haven't been playing good football for about a month now, and I don't know if they're going to have T.O. for this game (I hope not). I'm not really a Giants fan, but I was glad to see Eli get his first playoff win this weekend. I know he's inconsistent at times, but he's not a bad QB--- yet NY and the media make it seem like he's Rex Grossman and that the team just has to hope he doesn't screw up TOO much. And it's terribly unfair to compare him to his brother. Anyways, this may be my emotional pick, just because I hate the Cowboys so much, but I think the Giants have a great chance of upsetting the Cowboys. Besides, NFC East games are always super tough.
Giants win.

Mike Vick beat Favre at Lambeau. not that i disagree with your prediction, but favre at lambeau isn't the reason.
i was 2-2 ATS. luckily my "best bet" gave me a come from behind cover.
right now i'm leaning towards all the favorites. gotta give it more thought though. and i'm not sure at all about the spreads. i was actually a little surprised the GB - Seahawks line was that high. i was expecting it to be about 5.
