Where do you get this idea? 

I don't remember hearing the words 'bare minimum' or 'at least' or anything like that in relation to how long it takes to complete a CD once it's turned in...   

i do.  when axl gave that statement around christmas i think it was, about the release possibly being march 6, he did say something about 6 to 8 weeks being the mimimun amount of time needed to release it once it's turned in.

in all honesty, 9/17 is feasible.

No, here's what he said...

"It takes approximately 8 weeks for an album to hit the shelves once it has been turned in to the record company. For whatever reasons it appears it may have been mistakenly inferred by management that this could be condensed to three. That being said this is not a promise, a lie or a guarantee but we do wish to announce a tentative release date of March 6th. This is the first time we have done this publicly for this album. Any and all other dates have been made up by others for their own reasons. We would like to assure the fans that though tentative everything in our power will be done to meet this date. Once it is finalized and official you will be notified. If we are delayed for unseen reasons you will also be notified as soon as possible in regard to a new date and the album will be released as shortly thereafter as is possible. We thank you for your patience.

Considering the tour just ended with no new dates scheduled and the fact that mixing was happening earlier in the year, I personally think we're closer than ever to its release.



I don't share the pessimistic views of some fans and I think the summer tour was just the beginning of something great.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the future brings.

The fact that no tour plans have been made so they can set up the release of the record is comforting in my opinion. It means they are trying to get the record out there

exactly my thoughts. "The emphasis now is to put the new album out" and "expect the unexpected" are just good things in my opinion. Unexpected? A september or octuber release date would be unexpected. I'm as optimist as you.
