Saw Velvet Revolver at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville last night. I Have to say Scott was really on. I have seen VR 3 times now and I saw STP when I was 11 and he sounded better last night than any other time I've seen him. Plus he was dancing around and moving alot more. He definately put on a great show. They played 6 new songs (Let It Roll, She Mine, This Fight, She Builds Quick Machines, Just Sixteen, Get Out The Door) And the Talking Heads cover. I was relieved that out of all the new stuff SBQM by far sounded the worst. It's mind boggling that anyone chose that to be the lead single. I am disappointed tho that one major gripe I had with Contraband will probably be one I'll have with Libertad. None of the new stuff has alot of soloing in it. It's a waste of a perfectly good Slash. Overall tho they sounded great. All of them had a ton of energy and put on a great show.

I think alot of it is due to the small club environment. I saw them in Chicago last week and totally agree they sounded better than the other 3 times I had seen them and were so much more energized. The crowds were way more into to than I remember in the past, because I think there are more VR fans going to these shows instead of the first go around where it was supported more by GNR/STP fans interested in those guys new project.

Glad you enjoyed yourself. Did you find Wish You Were Here as killer live as I did?

I though the actual was horrible. if i were you, id do some drinking outside while they are playing. VR sounded awesome. I loved the the jam they did at the end of set you free, slash had an amazing solo before wish you were here, and the band sounded really tight. I didn't care too much for the new songs but i won't judge them until i hear the new album. By far the best songs were - set me free, vasoline, physcho killer, wish you were here, and sliver. i think the crowd went the craziest when they played used to love her. overall it was a great show. most importantly, the band look happy to be there and playing.

I came towards the end of The Actual's set. Not bad tho. They did a pretty good cover of "Dream Police"

They're all way too short for me. Same problem with Contraband. I want lots of long solo's.  know velvet is a different band than Guns obviously with a different style but I just think when you're listening to a song with Slash on it the song should have lots of insane leads.
