Oh my..god

The guitar work, the vocals in the verses, this song is so amazing. The lyrics to that really cool sounding second verse go as follows...

Rollin' in the streetlights - In his old man's ride
Head in his lap - Going up-and-down, up-and-down, Oh-No cop lights
Standin' in the courthouse - god and every child
He said "Your honor, I plead to - the crime of being satisfied"

Nah I think he just copied and pasted the lyrics that Booker posted over at Vrforum.com, they seem to be pretty much spot on. I actually like the idea behind this song since the whole student/teacher relationship seems to be happening more and more these days...

Oh and thanks booker for transcribing them? beer

Maybe it's because im using headphones,or you guys are listening to low bitrate versions because the lyrics aren't muffled at all. In the verses especially. you can make out each word perfectly.

Im tempted to call this VRs best song.  I think I personally rank it above "Slither."  I havent decided if I like it more than "You Got No Right," but its possible.

A lot of people criticized VRs first album for not living up to the bands potential, and as much as I like that album, there was truth to that.  "Just Sixteen" is the sound of them fulfilling that potential.  I usually avoid making comparisons between new music and Appetite For Destruction, and some might find this blasephemous or overhyping, but I feel that this song has the sound and energy of that albums songs.  It has to be the most GNR-sounding song theyve recorded to date, and its a direction Id certainly like to see them take more often.

I'm an avid VR fan, and I still don't know if I'm sold on the production and sound of these Libertad tracks. They're still way too "poppy" sounding for my liking, Just 16 included. I know as an artist you like to grow and branch out musically, but after being spoilt with the guitar sounds on AFD and UYI, I'm not really digging Slash's rhythm sound on these tracks.
His solos sound cool, but the riffs just lack punch and grit. I think Dave's guitar sound is also interfering with my enjoyment of the track too, as when I panned the balance over to listen to just Slash playing, it sounded better, although still not as crunchy as I would have liked.

And before any VR fans jump on me, I'm just being completely honest about what I'm hearing.

I agree with Booker about hearing songs live before studio not helping, but I just ain't digging the studio stuff that much unfortunately.
