Well...doesnt seem like a brilliant idea,

but ya never know, might inject something new into the series - maybe they'll find someone who's even better than Arnie.....

Tony Blair needs a new job!  Grin

Fact is though, Arnold IS the terminator. Just like Bruce Willis is John Mclane and Stallone is Rocky/Rambo.

Die Hard, Rambo and Rocky don't have a functional, rich alternate world complete with timelines, it's own lore and the whole "expanded universe" thing going on like Terminator does.
That's what makes creatig somewhat credible scifi action so easy. You essentially got a detailed  alternative world made out for you,all you have to do is come up with a few characters, throw them inside and see what happens.
Whereas nothing at all happens in , say, "Die Hard world" unless you drop John Mclane in it. While some consider Terminator flicks as "Arnie-movies" the world and base setting in no way relies on  him. While John Mclane/Bruce Willis essentially is Die Hard.

..Former is strictly from the point of view of a fan of the (first two)terminators and their world as a whole. People who conider Terminators just action movies among action movies propably can't have Terminator movie  without Arnie.

I hope T4 ends up being what T3 should have been; a Scifi war movie. If they chose to (ab)use the same worn setting of terminators time-travelling and  hunting person Y because of X it is hard to imagine it being nothing but an embarrassing flop.

Hey! How about a female Terminator!!
ugnh don't even mention that. hihi
Well nothing wrong with the idea itself. Just that it was done incredibly poorly in T3. Just a lame ripoff from T-1000. Whereas T-1000 was um..pretty credible in it's own world&had a clear logic and limits between what it could and could not do, the grrrl terminator of T3 was just shit. Albeit hot shit. "Hey look there is a flamethrower coming out of my hand. Oh noes, it broke. Fortunatelly ther is a plasma gun coming out of my hand now!" Why not have a F-18 Hornet with a nuclear bomb coming out of her hand while at it? Plus the "i control machines!!" thing was just so very oh  go fuck yourself-y

Yup, i think so.
..Come to think of it she might have been  pretty good at her job if a director who has some idea how to do his damn job was there to boss her around.

Should check that one out sometime yes
And U-571 is depressingly utter shit.  it's stunning someone can create a movie involving a crew in WW II submarines without any suspense. it's like writing 5 seasons of soap opera in TV where none of the characters never cry.
Also, way to re-create history. Jon Bon Jovi solves teh enigma!
.I'm starting to think Jon Mostow is infact the antichrist.

ANd yeh, the Poles broke the enigma code amongst many other significant things in WW2. Do you know that they also liberated a Political concentration camp in the Jewish Ghetto! 1944.

i thought edward furlong is fine now? isnt he clean? hes a great actor, sure he wasnt the best in T:2 but he was young, i thought he was great in American History X.

Yeah I agree, Furlong is great.
It was such a shame they didn't cast him as John Connor in T3..would have saved alot. Wonder why they casted him out in first place. it's hard to buy the "Sure we wuld have casted him but he was  too addcited!!!"- thing.

..Plus the most succesfull fighter squandron in Battle Of Britain was actually Polish.
and naaah, no Burton, it's German production.

The Poles also looked after many wounded German soldiers in the underground hospitals (cellars).

Soo let's see what we have here on off topic scale;

Rumored T4 -> Terminators-> T3 -> Jon Mostow-> Submarines->Polish people in WW II ->Battle Of Britain->Cellars with wounded german soldiers.
 Grin
There are wounded soldiers in cellars in the flashback scenes of the first Terminator, the circle is now complete!

The Poles taught the British special flying tactics - simialr to their cavalry runs. These tactics were needed to end the battle.
