Yes, theroretically they could do that I suppose. It wouldn't be easy for GNR to win though. It would be easier for GNR to win a case for "damages" then to win copyright infringement. I'm not sure the RIAA is going to win that NIN case either.

The RIAA isn't going to do shit about the leaks. They are unpublished demos, and it is virtually impossible to prove where they came from. Plus if it isn't in the USA then they have zero chance of doing anything. The material may be copyrighted, but the actual recordings must be published before they qualify for infringement. Hence why nobody is complaining about the "lies" demos, or the 1986 (jumpin' jack flash,etc) demos, or any of the various proshot DVDs made available for free trade and seeded on the web.

sites/people were prosecuted by RIAA because they were putting up songs before the album was released.
the irony is... the band leaked those song on purpose. so theoretically they can go after our leakers. the problem is according to the story that this had happened in Europe.

Most of the RIAA suits are bullshit any way. they do it for a cash grab ,knowing that most would rather pay then make them take them to court over it.

well, this leak was intentional, the person who did it, knew that it's done without the aprovement of the band...
he also knew that he's gonna bring damage to their "enterprise", etc.etc....
I think it labels as intentional harm. +they could add that he did it for his own benefits (if cyber acknowledgment can be found a benefit)
also the Portuguese guy could sue him for fraud:D

I wish all this didn't have to be such a big deal.  I wish Axl could realize what an overwhelming minority we are here on these forums.  Even if these leaks reach the few thousand die hard fans, it's not going to affect a damn thing.  But it does seem like the bigger stink Axl causes, the more attention he draws to it.  And the more attention that's focused on it, the more likely the leaks are to have some negative effect on his business. 

Instead of getting pissed at his fans for wanting to hear anything he makes, he should be glad that they're happy and not waste another minute of his time worrying about a bunch of shit he can't change.  He's got music to make and concerts to play.

I love Axl, and I miss having him out there rocking the world.

Both grabaraxl and MSL say they have mails and proofs. Grabaraxl just happen to know the people involved and says his side of the story. Grabaraxl's letter DID NOT PROVE anything.

People are talking against Jarmo in all the forums not just on cd.com. And by saying that  noone reacts or tries to stop that is absolutely ridicoulous.  The mods on cd.com delete EVERY DAY posts against Jarmo. Even in the past both you and Jarmo asked many times BP to delete threads when he wasn't online and he jumped in to do it ASAP. BP never said anything bad about Jarmo, HTGTH, the job you are doing over here or anything similar.  We do have rules and they are posted on the support section in case you haven't noticed it.  Jarmo said that BP and I attacked to him with lame insults and that HAS NEVER HAPPENED. On the other hand Jarmo came on cd.com to attack to BP.

There is one admin out there who beleives he belongs to an ELITE club and tries to make people think he is important and aspire they kiss his ass, fight his enemies.....with the hinted promise these people will become his groupies.....
This admin hinted awhile ago certain elite members of the GN'R community have had all these leaks for a while now.....He hinted he is among the elites.....Why? To gain attention and clicks on his site.
That admin is NOT Jarmo.
In fact, that admin is so jelous of Jarmo (as many of you are), that he'd use every possible chance to take shots at Jarmo....even if that means ganging up with hoarders and the leakers, posting blatant lies on his site, urging people to attack Jarmo..

I never said BP has the leaks for a fact. I said he has mentioned on his site that a certain group of people have had them since January, very well implying he might be one of them (go dig out his post from somewhere in the Jungle). Regardless of whether he had something or not, he said that for his usual little attention and power games. He has himself claimed or implied on numerous occasions that he in the Elite of the gn'r online community, even calling himself "Online GN'R management specialist", and throughout last year he was constantly self stating on his board that he personally works with Merck on certain things, when in fact he was only bothering Merck with emails.....just as 50,000 other more minor fans. I can also quote what is on his buseness site (blueheartweb.com) and people can decide for themslelves. And yes, it is the same business site that has a huge banner on cd.com and that he and his lovely have in their signatures on every board:

Same thing happened to yet another HTGTH bashing thread the other day and many other things in the past.
And finally BP comes here and implies people are saying this against him to take the heat off of HTGTH....wow.

Look Sladdi, I have nothing against you except your occasional news things made out of almost nothing or for never crediting the board members that pointed you to any real news - browsong Japanese and Australian promoter sites for the latest news on the tour are the first and latest things that come to mind. Blueheartweb was responsible for the design and hosting of Duff's website as well. There has been a lot of work for other local bands in US and Greece too. 6. CD.com is BP's and sladdi's personal work as GNR fans - is way far from any kind of business
7. MSL is not the one that leaked the songs and CD.com is not a platform that servers "criminals". The songs were going to be leaked anyway. BP tried to reversed it with all of his power but it didn't happen. Don't spread shit when you don't know what you are talking about. There are rules about not posting links to unreleased songs, people got banned for asking links to the songs and all related threads were removed.
8. There is not htght bashing thread at CD.com. Merck did ask BP to work with Jarmo and Mysteron for the presale. Jarmo and Mysteron didn't want to work all together as a team. You can see who has the problem. If you don't understand it make me do it even clearer. If your manager (in this case Merck that wanted to run the presale) asks you to work with two other colleagues for a project you have to do it. Not act as egomanian and leave the one beside. In most enterprises that's a good reason to get fired even if the project succeeds.
9. Sladdi and BP work together for many years now. It's much more than friendship in between so stay out of that.

1) I think even jarmo and christos can confirm that I've had a carrier with smartassy comments loooong time before I became a mod on cd.com?

2) I posted the letter here without the quotes or anything, and only put "by msl" at the end when I first started the thread. I figured... "It's gonna get deleted anyway, why bother with the cosmetics"...

3) once I saw the post is still there, I edited with the link to the original post to avoid misinterpretation. People were already PMing me thinking that I was MSL.... I took that as an offense, since my IQ is far greater than 155

All I have to say is that these few people who try and spend their lives trying to get these leaks, and celebrate the leaks, are not true supporters, especially when we are so close and we know the album has gone in for mixing. They are ruining the experience and ruining it for GN'R after all this time.
