According to Newsday.com, VELVET REVOLVER and ALICE IN CHAINS are scheduled to perform on August 18 at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, New York. No further details are currently available.

According to the actual Jones Beach website its happening also which I guess would confirm it too, and there already looks like there is a US August Tour date, so it looks like its gonna happen.

A source close to one of the bands on the rumored VELVET REVOLVER / ALICE IN CHAINS summer tour unofficially told Launch Radio Networks that the trek was happening. So far the following two dates have been leaked:

Aug. 17 - Homdel, NJ @ PNC Bank Arts Center
Aug. 18 - Wantagh, NY @ Jones Beach

I just heard a radio station (WBAB) mention this, I believe they said tickets would go on sale Saturday. I have yet to see any indication on Ticketmaster or Live Nation though.

I think that would be an awsome tour...I Wanted to see both when they came to the Kool Haus this year but VR were 19+ and AIC I dont think I'd go see by themselves....Would be great if they made a stop in Toronto though
