exploding whispers...

« on: April 29, 2007, 08:55:46 AM »

from gnr.com:
Quote
Fans can expect to hear GN'R classics such as "Welcome To the Jungle," "November Rain," "Patience" and "Sweet Child O' Mine" along with blistering new songs from the band's forthcoming Chinese Democracy album, including "Madagascar," "IRS," and "Better."

so, we've got the 4 biggest hits of the past mentioned next to 3 new songs, does that imply that these will be the singles?  or are they just mentioned because they're leaks people have heard?  thoughts?

I think that they said it because these are most heard songs from the new album. But in my opinion the single will be another song that we don't know.

I don't know, but I can't imagine a single not being "Better", that Harley Davidson ad gave us the tip!! The single would be released at that time, if the things had gone in a good way.... Undecided

They're just going with what they know.  Those songs have been played at previous shows, so they will be heard this time around.

....Some people look way too far into things, chances are they just mentioned them because they are the most popular. I doubt it is a hidden clue as to what singles will be released.

They're mentioned because they've already been played at shows and the band said until they release CD then they're pretty much sticking with last year's set list. There's no mystery here.

Maybe these one of these songs will be a later single. But IMO they have a unheard of song that they are going to release as a first single. If it was a song that we have already heard they could just release it now.

I assume that's simply because I said IRS and Better were tops and Madagascar recently smote me. Tongue

Rather than singles, I'd smell a slight difference in nuance between

to hear GN'R classics such as "Welcome To the Jungle," "November Rain," "Patience" and "Sweet Child O' Mine" along with blistering new songs from the band's forthcoming Chinese Democracy album, including "Madagascar," "IRS," and "Better."

and

with the comment in your post i figured your question would be "will they play new matieral Shocked"

in the mean time they probably did just mention those cause those are the most popular old/new songs by G'n'R; so far Wink

At this point I'd have to say, I'd be shocked it Better isn't the first single. I really think TWAT will be a later single too.

I disagree.. Personally i want to have a surprise when CD comes out, We already know half the songs on the album( if the leaks are going to be on it) I dont want more..

I think Better will be a great single, everyone who i know who has heard it loves the song..

And of the songs they've played live, who even know if they would have played them if not for them being leaked in the first place.  Maybe there were others they planned on playing but didn't want people knowing most of the material on the album before it even comes out.  Without being familiar with all the material on the album, I don't think there's any way you can predict what the first single will be.......  But I would guess something we've not heard.

The only new song they've played at every show is "The Blues", odds are they'll play that one.

The Blues would make an extraordinary second single.

A "rocker" would be ideal as the first, but The Blues would make a tremendous follow-up single ok
