I really don't understand some of the people on this board, I guess its each to their own, but its facinating to me how people can see things so differently to me.

Like, why exactly are Velvet Revolver "a fucking joke"? They have released an album with strong sales, have a second one on the way, and have several years of touring and playing sold out and or packed shows.

Now I understand that the guys in VR are in VR and not GNR anymore, but the point of this thread was that if we are going to mention someone like Izzy who left the band long ago, how can it be anything other than bias that prevents VR news from being relevant in the same historic way.

I know...VR has nothing to do with GNR right?

There are currently 5 GNR cds availaible for sale at my record store:

Appetite for Destruction  - (2 Members of VR appear on this record)
Lies -  (2 Members of VR appear on this record)
Use Your Illusion 1  - (3 Members of VR appear on this record)
Use Your Illusion 2  - (3 Members of VR appear on this record)
Spagetti Incident  -  (3 Members of VR appear on this record)

Now, whilst they are no longer in the band, I can't see how any rational person can deny that some fans of GNR (even if they dont like VR) would consider the activities of these former memebers relevant.

Now theres a bunch of cheap shots that can be made and i'm not going to do it because at the end of the day I like both bands and really like axl's new songs and stuff and am looking forward to seeing this version of GNR in Australia soon....however I think some people around here are so enthusitic about their love of the new band that they feel the need to bash the old band, VR members and deny the contribution they made.

Some members of VR did contribute to GN'R in the past. Nobody's denying that.

I'd rather focus on GN'R, a band that I love, than promote a band who's music does nothing for me.


As I've said in the past, for me VR was a way to pass the time until the real thing got rolling.

Three years later, I'd rather listen to Tommy's record than Contraband.

The prolbem was that a nonews Izzy news was posted. That's bias. But at least it's clear for everyone that it's not a Guns N' Roses fan site anymore since moderting has nothing to do with that.

BTW is Brain out of the band? Cause the major news of him playing on a Serj record didn't get mention on the first page.

what are you talking about?  they dont post VR news on the front page because its a Guns N' Roses site.    Izzy has some level of involvment with GNR, go look at Richard's site and Robin's site or even GnR's official myspace he's in a pic or two.    He was also at 2 out of the 4 shows I saw last year.   

Do you need me to write all that down again?   How could it be anymore clear?

I need to agree with Village Gotilla Head being way better and enjoyable than Contraband.

and how hard is it for some people to understand that there are no VR news in the main site simply because VR has nothing to do with Guns N' Roses (first and MAIN reason), and apparently, the webmaster of this site thinks (like me, and a very big portion of the GNR fans) that VR has nothing to offer and they are a boring band!

So, with all these reasons given, why should Jarmo put VR news in the main site? What the hell has VR got to do with the present of Guns N' Roses?
