All my friends who liked GNR stopped believing years ago... I wont. It's a rough ride but shit happens. I saw them last summer in Helsinki and hope to catch them again... CD or not.

Stopped believing in what? The divinity of Axl?  I think im a true fan and I dont buy half of the shit that happens.  I dont believe these delays.  So are we to believe that the numerous times Tommy lost his temper that if he left the band was over?  You arent necessarily a true fan if you buy everything the band says or believe that they are destined to soon become the biggest thing on the planet.  Im going to buy the album, i still listen to GNR and ive seen them live several times.  I have AXL shoes, the old ones not the new garbage ones, and i have a lot of GNR merchandise, but I dont think any of that makes me a "true fan."  A true fan is someone who likes the music, not a blind follower, or someone with the money to spend on the band.  All it takes to be a fan of music is to like it.  Too many people on this board have this "holier than thou" attitude because they have 2,000 posts or they stay online for upto the millisecond updates from ever concert, "Ok its silent, its silent still, still silent, i hear a note, intro to WTTJ starting, fog on stage, more intro playing, more intro, axl appearing, band appearing, tommy playing baseline, frank playing a drum beat, Axl say you, axl says know, axl says where..."  That just means you have more time on your hands.  Yes its a message board and its for discussion, but YOU dont decide whose a fan.  I hate that "get on board or get off" shit.  You dont profit off the album, why tell someone who will buy the album not to because they dont have 500 posts or dont believe the album will be out this year.  Who the hell cares.  Get over yourself.  Youre a guy who likes GNR, so is the person who has all the cds but doesnt care enough to check out the websites or forums. No difference.  When youre in the audience at a concert the band doesnt play especially for you.  Youre a dot, just like every other fan...no more no less.

Dude! I think the point of this thread is mainly about supporting the band rather than tirading about album delays and cancelled tour dates. Your point about liking the music is totally valid.

My friends stopped too but that was because they either grew up or the band faded away. I personally kept with it all these years and still waiting.  First GNR gig was Wembley 91 recent was Download fest 2006 and will be eagerly awaiting UK return, CD or NO CD.
