From theage.com

Also a quote from Paul Dainty

But Rose has been active. This year Guns N' Roses have played 80 shows on the first leg of their world tour. Only two needed to be rescheduled, said local promoter Paul Dainty, who is confident cancelled tours, false starts and no-shows are behind them.

"There's no question as to their reputation (but) that's more in the past," he said. "They've done 80 shows in the northern hemisphere ? that's proven they can do it."

Still, Rose has lost none of his mystery. Despite the lengthy negotiations, Dainty has never spoken to the 45-year-old star.

"I've spoken to his PA (personal assistant) ? he doesn't really have a manager. Business people do the deal," he said.

Rose could be heard in the background of some calls, Dainty said, and any demands and questions from the star had been "common sense".

Guns 'n' Roses To Tour Australia
by Paul Cashmere - April 4 2007

Axl Rose is returning to Australia for the first time in 14 years with his new incarnation of Guns 'n' Roses.

Promoter Paul Dainty has scored the coup for Australia.

The G 'n' R Chinese Democracy tour will play Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth in June.

The tour is hopefully going to mark the release of the long-awaited 'Chinese Democracy' album which is already 8 years overdue. The only track to officially surface from the album was 'End of Days' on the 1999 soundtrack to 'End of Days'.

The Guns 'n' Roses line-up is W. Axl Rose on vocals, guitarists Robin Finck and Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal and Richard Fortus, bass player Tommy Stinson, keyboard players Dizzy Reed and Chris Pittman and drummer Frank Ferrer.

Rose has had a revolving door of players for this version of Guns 'n' Roses ever since the original band broke up. Most are know known as Velvet Revolver.

The Australian tour will be a spectacular in its own right with Skid Row's Sebastian Bach and Australia's rock legends Rose Tattoo performing as special guests.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday April 26th.

Dates are:

Sunday 10 June ? PERTH - Burswood Dome
Wednesday 13 June ? ADELAIDE - Entertainment Centre
Friday 15 June ? MELBOURNE - Rod Laver Arena
Wednesday 20 June ? BRISBANE - Entertainment Centre
Saturday 23 June ? SYDNEY - Acer Arena

Sebastion Bach again? ?Why not Silverchair or someone else that has had a cd that has been successful in the last 10 yrs. ?I say Silverchair cause they are from Australia. ?Why not Co-headline w/ AC/DC. ?Why Sebastion?

Silverchair...?

I don't think so...

How about the Screaming Jets! ok

What's wrong with Silverchair? They are Australia's favorite band, and rightfully so.

Australia's fav band? Says who?

I used to like Silverchair, but I've liked them less and less with each album. And their new song is just keyboards and singing, what happened to the guitars and the cool riffs they used to write?
I remember Daniel Johns saying some less than pleasant things about GN'R a few years ago too...

At least the Screaming Jets are a rock band.

Anyway, back on topic, GUNS N FUCKING ROSES ARE TOURING AUSTRALIA IN 2007!!!!! ok beer

I'm not talking about bands that have appeared on the scene in the last few year, I'm talking about a band that have been making music for the last decade.

"The group has had more top twenty hits in Australian charts during the last decade than any other local artist and they have sold over six million albums worldwide. Every album released by the band to date has spawned at least one "Top 3" single and debuted at the number 1 position on Australian charts. Silverchair is also one of only three Australian bands to have three number 1 singles on the Australian Singles Chart."

It appears that Silverchair is Australia's favorite band and have been for the last decade.  ok

That's why that discussion ends here. We have a special section for other bands, including them.

This is great news. I knew it was on the agenda to happen, however until it was confirmed you never really know for sure.

Thanks a heap to the band and all involved in making this happen.

Australia will often miss out when it comes to world tours due to our location and the costs involved in staging such a tour and the fact that the band want to recognise their fan base down here rather than taking the easy dollar option by touring area's such as the US and Europe again is really pleasing.

This is going to be huge.

That's pretty funny - in your other post before the Aussie concerts were announced you were giving shit to people in Perth (WA) who were saying GN'R should come to Perth too if they tour Australia.? In case you can't remember here is your response to the post:

"Just like VR went to visit u in Perth?? ?hihi? "

Now you want someone in Perth to put you up for the night? rofl

No wonder you have a -2 Karma score.  That damn Karma has just come around to bite you again.  BTW - I don't see GN'R stopping in to Newcastle either? Tongue

Sorry Dead N' Bloated I couldn't resist the sledge.  Wink

I'm going to the Perth show (obviously) plus will fly over to Melbourne as well (hopefully they may even add second nights for the Melbourne & Sydney shows).  I'm thinking of stopping off in Adelaide for the show before Melbourne too.
