US Democratic Presidential Debate
«

How many of you watched it?
I'm gonna say that Biden was the most honest and straight forward, with Clinton following closely behind.? Everyone else used catchwords and avoided the question.

nope, simply because i'm in france and our presidentials have already started and the second run is in 10 days, so all political debates here are about our own country right now.

Gravel was very argumentitive and combative. He verbally attacked the other members, claiming they had intention to use nuclear weapons on Iran. In terms of performance, he was a flop. Edwards used the normal politican move, of changing words and skirting around the question, to me he didn't seem very straight forward as Biden and even Clinton appeared to be. A direct example would be his stance on abortion where rather than adress the question (the recent ruling on partial ban) he changed it to privacy. Obama and Kucinich gave similar answers to the same question. Kucinich was off in left field with Gravel, arguing against any retaliation to 9/11 and our action in Afghanistan. Obama faired well, but he skirted the questions quite a few times on issues where he didn't want to create a stand. I'm sure it will be on teh net if it isn't still on MSNBC.com for viewing. Everyone who plans on voting should watch this past one and the Republican one next week. I thought the moderation was very well done and they asked some good questions.

I don't understand why you want to stir the pot here? Yesterday was the first Presidential debate, and we'll have another one next week. I know you like to get your information from talking points and OPEds, but maybe some people want to get their information directly. Although I never need to justify myself to you, I will be in Iraq in a few months. Just remember that actions speak louder than words; remember that next time you make a 30,000$ profit off some house you sell to a family. If you really cared, you wouldn't be making buku bucks in the process.
If you take offense to people actually listening to each candidates idea, then go back to Tin Foil land where everything is beamed into your head and deemed true because you decree it.

You ain't kiddin'! The first two answers didn't come CLOSE to the question, the third only halfway did. I think I recall the fourth answer as being the first one that was truthful, and it might have been Kucinich.

I printed that out, so I can read it by my pool tomorrow.

hillary was the best. very well-spoken, straight-forward, clear ideas, and came off as likeable.
biden was strong. seemed to be taking the "nothing to lose approach" (which is probably true).
obama didn't come off as very "presidential". he seemed unsure of himself at times. he appeared to be in over his head next to the more seasoned politicians. but honest which is important, and very likeable.
edwards was annoying. seemed very calculated and phony, obviously following advice from his 2004 consultants.

Hillary will get the nod. She has the experience of being co-president in the 1990's.

Well spoken? Even with her defending the jerk off attempts of a fake southern accent she keeps making? She made herself more out to be a bigot and racist. I guess that does make her straight forward and shows who she really is.

i hope not too, for your sake..because any qualified man will wind up beating her....same goes for obama.....the dems should be smart and run Edwards.....ive said it before...the election is yours for the taking....why would you want to test the waters to see if america is ready for a woman or minority president?? I dont get it....then again you guys did blow the 2004 election...which is beyond comprehension....

How sweet of you to be concerned about the Democratic party. I personally hope the Republicans run Tom Tancredo or Sam Brownback.
