Guns 'n' Roses Tour For Australia Still Going Ahead

by Paul Cashmere - April 21 2007

New reports overnight that the Australian leg of the Guns 'n' Roses has been indefinitely postponed are incorrect according to promoter Paul Dainty.

Dainty has once again confirmed to Undercover News that reports emanating out of South Africa last night that the Australia and New Zealand Guns 'n' Roses shows have been postponed following yesterday's decision by the band to pull out of South Africa have not been confirmed.

"I spoke with them last night and they did not tell me that," Dainty told Undercover.

Earlier, Japanese dates were postponed after bass player Tommy Stinson fell down a flight of stairs. Guns 'n' Roses postponed their Japanese dates because of the injury and yesterday also put South Africa on hold.

The South African shows were to take place in Johannesburg and Cape Town on April 27 and May 1st. "The South Africa dates are next week," Dainty said. "The Australian dates are still months away".

Guns 'n' Roses are due to start their Australia tour on June 10 in Perth.

Tickets are still scheduled to go on sale at 9am this Thursday April 26.

Sunday 10 June ? PERTH - Burswood Dome
Wednesday 13 June ? ADELAIDE - Entertainment Centre
Friday 15 June ? MELBOURNE - Rod Laver Arena
Wednesday 20 June ? BRISBANE - Entertainment Centre
Saturday 23 June ? SYDNEY - Acer Arena

So, in conclusion, the last 24 hours of ridiculousness boils down to two festival appearances being canceled. Good. Can we now round up all of the doomsday prophets and throw them down a well? Or should we wait for official confirmation first?

I guess the Mexico dates are ok too then. Its too bad he didn't heal enough in time for the SA shows. They seemed to be really looking forward to those.

Great news to hear.

Quote
"I spoke with them last night and they did not tell me that," Dainty told Undercover.

I don't know but what he said and the news still doesn't fill me with 100% confidence.

"they did not tell me that" - I don't know, I still sense some uncertainty from Dainty. Poor guy must have lost some hair since signing on GN'R ?hihi

Anyways good news until we hear anything otherwise! ?ok

That is a relief to hear. Not just that they're still making the Australian dates, but that there are no problems within the band.

good news, the exact moment the band decided to start the tour in australia they should've told the fans. the promoter of the show giving this kind of news is ridiculous.

This info should have been handled by the GNR organization 24 hours before any sites ran with the cancellation stories.  Good news for our Aussie friends, nevertheless.

And for mexican fans! This gives them a very big hope!

So, we can assume that the world tour starts in Mexico?

My sincere apologies to or Mexican friends as well!  Never safe to assume anything with this band, but for the moment, I'm going to presume that the June 2nd kick-off is still solid

That sounds like promising news, but I don't know why it's making some people feel vindicated. ?I mean the South African dates were still going ahead when they postponed the Japanese dates. ?Look what happened to them. ?Oh and for the record, I'm not hating, just being realistic.
