Taleban uses boy to behead 'spy'

The Taleban in Afghanistan have used a boy of around 12 to behead a man they accused of spying for the US.
Parts of a video of the beheading were broadcast on the Dubai-based al-Arabiya TV network.

The Taleban said the dead man, Ghulam Nabi, had given the US information which led to an air strike in which a senior Taleban commander died.

The video footage shows Mr Nabi being blindfolded with a chequered scarf and making what is said to be a confession.

The boy, wearing a camouflage jacket and wielding a large knife, denounces him as a spy and then cuts off his head.

The father of Mr Nabi, who lives in Pakistan and who confirmed that his son was the man killed in the video, said his son had been a loyal member of the Taleban.

Senior Taleban commander Akhtar Mohammad Osmani was killed during a December air strike on his car in southern Afghanistan.

The Taliban killing someone and than seelling it to the media so it can be shown on U.S. and world television is informing. It's Taliban propaganda. It'd purpose is to hopefully wake up the world in how dangerous these people can be.

You kind of have a point I guess about the propaganda. But wouldn't any coverage of the war be propaganda then? Propaganda if something good happens? Propaganda is something bad happens? If you look at it like the way you are I assume, any and all news would be a piece of propaganda. Maybe the world should have just sit back during the first two propaganda World Wars and left Germany have most of Europe.

Knowing the truth about who these terrorist are and what they do is not in the same breath as keeping my fear and loving Bush. These people have committed these horrible crimes way before Bush was around. So, you can put your "Blame Bush" card back in your pocket.

Islam is fucked up. For the majority, this religion has been turn into hatred to no believers and a religion of murder. These people have no regards for other peoples lives who don't live by Islam. What really irritates me is that the "good" Muslims never stand up in outrage over how their religion is being portrayed. They sit on their ass with their mouths shut. So by that, there is no respect for them or their religion coming from me.

I'm fully capable of separating my opinion of Bush from my opinion of Taliban beheadings.  I don't like either.

Again, despite the fact that they brainwashed a kid so that he would behead someone, I do my best to separate the actions of a few (yes, I'm going to say it) psycho nutcases from Islam/Arabs as a group.  And the fact that Christians have done equally despicable things over the last 2000 years doesn't make this beheading any better.

International law is a joke, and always will be so long as the largest powers (US, Russia, China) don't support its institutions, such as the ICJ.

I would find a non-working immigrant with eight kids on welfare to be annoying too, though I doubt that it's representative of the majority of welfare cases in France OR the US.  And I haven't a clue what this has to do with the Taliban, beheadings, or foreign policy.
