Hey Falcon, what do you think of this one??
I was replying to the topic and look what this ass clown is doing......
Fucking par for the course, ass clowns reply deleted.
On topic, I'm not sure if I need a Slash solo record at this point.?
I'd probably give it a listen, download a song or 2 if they were of quality but that's as far as I'd probably go with it.

Id love a real Slash record with different singers. It would give him an opportunity to indulge his GNR-style blues rock tendencies as well as collaborate with different writers. I guess the only issue is finding enough great singers to appear on it.

He said he's not considering doing a solo record now, with him being busy in VR and all. So I guess it'll be some time coming...

well i'm pretty sure Scotts got a solo album hes been recording on and off so he'll probably wanna finish that at some point. maybe we'll see a slash solo record and a Scott solo record within the next couple years after VR stop touring for Libertad.
i would definitely check out, that would be so cool if he got different singers to sing on it like Mick Jagger, Stephen Tyler, ozzy, and maybe even Sebastian Bach!! [drools]

Me too, i'd linke to see slash experimentin' doin' diferent. To rock we have VR. He mentioned before VR came up he was workin' on some spanish stuff, indian scales, african rithms and this kind of things I'd love to see him experimentin' . I mean experiment not to sound comercial. Probably a lot of people would hate him for doin' it but i personally would love it

Yeah, he could release the 'GN'R album' they wrote with Izzy, too, that was nixed by Weiland.
You're assuming Izzy would let him release it just like that.
Maybe it's more like an Izzy Stradlin album with Duff and Slash making an appearance than a Slash album with Duff and Izzy. That has happened before you know.

You're so fucking negative and down on former members. Why you always have to bring this kind of shit into play? It's like ... you don't want 'arguments' to occur on your forum, yet you fucking pull this shit ... it's laughable ..

For the record, I don't think releasing the album with Duff, Izzy and Slash is only up to Slash.
Since Izzy has had both of them guest on his solo albums, I wouldn't be surprised if the material is more of an Izzy album than a Slash album.
/jarmo
Slash has said that the 'Project' album with Izzy sounded too much GN'R and 'the best instrumental' GN'R album to date (which I believe could very well be
) But actually, before the 'Project' album with Izzy there was the album recorded late 2001 (with Taz Bentley on drums) where some of the following was mentioned, it was on snakepit.org:
Quote
http://www.snakepit.org/0102news.html
SLASH says he is working with Izzy to finish up the album. SLASH gave us more information on that project. He says that he, SLASH, wrote 3 of the songs and did guitar work on the whole album. Duff came in and laid down the bass. Izzy does the singing and also plays guitar. SLASH says it is just about ready to go. Izzy is not into heavy promotion, so you may not see much about it. It will be for sale on the internet.
SLASH says don't think of it as the next GNR or Snakepit album...it is not in that style.
As soon as we know more about sale dates, we'll let you know!
So with that one it's likely more Izzy solo with Duff and Slash on it.
And some more quotes on that 2001 album from MTV:
Quote
"The thing with Izzy's [solo] record," Slash said, "is that I got involved with him because we talk on the phone a
lot, and he's just always doing these anonymous projects in his own quiet little fashion. It's just nice to get
together and write again.
"We got together to work on songs, and they sound like Izzy, like Izzy and Slash, so they're easy to recognize that
way," he continued. "They have a sense of humor about them, but they're loose and laid back. They're not heavy-duty, arrangement-oriented songs. They're just basic ideas that we thought were cool, so we threw it down."
Slash said that he wrote and recorded a total of five songs with Stradlin in November around the holidays, but the
songs still require about a day's worth of "fixing," as well as background vocals. Meanwhile, McKagan said that he's laid down the bass tracks for an album's worth of songs in two different sessions in November and December at a studio in Los Angeles.
"Me and Slash are just the session guys, man," McKagan said, laughing. "I just went in and did bass tracks for the
first three songs in an hour and kept at it."
And finally on the Slash solo album he was working on right before the Project started, mentioned in Guitar One magazine:
Quote
You've been jamming with Izzy again. Any new perspective on why your playing styles work so well together?
It's the kind of thing where no matter who comes up with the initial idea, I never really have to go, "Izzy, play this part this way." He just plays his thing his own way, and we never really talk about it much. Last night, we went in and took two songs from scratch, just basic chord changes, and worked them into full songs. That's one of the things about me and Izzy working together, he knows where I'm at, and I know where he's at. And that's the way it's always been. I make up something that accompanies his part, and at the same time accents it, and he does the same with my parts. We have that kind of chemistry. We've always been good friends, so for us to get in a room and play is a very easy thing to do.
What can we expect from you next?
I'm putting together another record with some stuff I've done with Izzy and other stuff I've done on my own. I want to start writing with other people as well, and put together an album with a lot of guests -- a really cool rock 'n' roll record with people you wouldn't expect to hear together.

How about you try to discuss what I said instead of trying to come up with lame fucking insults?
Or go and draw some porn if you can't manage that....
Down? What the fuck is your problem? I haven't said one negative word about Slash's playing, appearance or songwriting abilities in this thread and I'm negative?
Haven't you noticed anything about the way Izzy has released his last albums? All I said is that I don't think Slash can release a cd featuring other people "just like that"....
Do you have proof of the opposite? Do you have any proof that the collection of songs isn't full of songs originally written by Izzy that he brought to Duff and Slash for them to work on?

True, but I'm sure Slash and Izzy could come to some agreement; according to Slash he wrote three of the songs, and the rest were probably similiar to what happened in GnR, Izzy would write something cool and Slash would come in and turn up to 11, ie make it rockin'.
Besides Jarmo, I think Mikkamakka was originally referring to the stuff Izzy and Slash wrote together round about the time VR started, but Izzy didn't want to join the band. The Weiland reference in Mikkamakka's post obviously confirms this.

For the 2001 Izzy/Slash/Duff/Taz album Slash wrote 3 songs, but Slash also stated that with Izzy jamming with the Project in October 2002 he - Izzy brought 10 songs with him, so the original ideas came from him. But the question is in which state those songs and where and probably Duff and Slash had a big input on them aswell. Anyways no matter who came up with the first idea, when you have the Izzy-Duff-Slash combo you just can't go wrong
Btw, Izzy also brought The Darkness debut album with him during that time according to Slash

Thanks for the info.
I'm just waiting to see what Twisted and others who think that material would qualify as a Slash solo album has to say about it.

You can't take them too seriously, if you listen to their first and more so their second album you can definately tell they're just having a good time and it seems they try to over do it on purpose. They're not trying to be a real "serious" band, there's a lot of joking and humor in their music and the videos show it too. If you look at them from that perspective your opinion might change on them.
