What a bunch of assholes.? Is Australia really poor or something?? That doesn't seem like too much money for an evening of hard rock to me.

Don't be a jerk dude, $140 is a lot of money for 2+ hours of entertainment (not including openers).?

Five hours when you count all the waiting!   smoking

Totally worth it.

You're so funny.  Roll Eyes

GN'R will have two or three bands opening for them so you'll get a whole evening of rock n' roll.

Last week happened the Aerosmith + VR show here in Brazil.
The cheapest ticket price was R$ 160,00 = USD 79.00.

The $20 pre sale per ticket fee was a bit extreme.

But for $150 which regular fans can pay on the 26th, you are getting one of the greateat Austraian R&R bands of all time, one of the biggest late 80s hair metal acts of all time, and then the greatest hard rock band of all time. Not bad.

Quick head count; Raise your hand if you're going to one of the shows and you're unhappy with the ticket price.

Anyone?

Okay, voting is closed. Turns out, people who aren't going to the shows are very unhappy about the prices they aren't paying for the tickets they aren't buying. Come on GNR, FIX THIS NOW!

I go to alot of gigs in Australia and I would say that the price for these shows is high but not outrageous. These days it is about the norm to pay atleast $100 for a quality gig in an arena.

I would have paid 270 to see them.....

Ticket prices are a big issue here in Australia. Promoters rape the fuck outta fans with the cost of tickets. Its not just Music Events either. Its Plays, Rugby League, AFL, Cricket ect. There was a huge story about it on A Current Affair.
I'm willing to pay whatever for any band I really like tho. It dont really worry me.
I've been to a few big bands and the tix have varried a fare bit.

AC/DC 2001=$80
Pantera 2001=$45
Kiss+bus to sydney from Newcastle 2003=$180
Metallica 2004=$130 for entertainment center and $103 for Big Day Out
Alice Cooper 2005=$518 that included a meet and greet, t-shirt, Backstage Pass, and a seat in the first 2 rows.

So its all pretty costly but still totally worth it.

Holy shit!? You got to meet Alice Cooper for 500 bucks?? Lucky you.

What was he like?? Really cool?

I'll bet he was really cool.?

I like it when he sings, "What have I got that makes you wanna love me?? Is it my body?"

All the world's poets could unite thier talents and still not produce a chorus as awesome as "Dead Babies can't take care of themselves.  Dead Babies can't take things off the shelves."

To me, what's really outrageous is that there are always some touts selling tickets twice or three times as expensive on auctions. they're like stealing good seats from real fans. Has the press ever Bitched about this?

No. It's probably the press core selling their freebies. If you find yourself seated between two guys with huge cameras and bad hair, I totally told you so.

The majority of australian press, especially major gossip columnists and writers etc, every last one of them are arrogant, uptight, stuck up, smartass bitches and bastards, the whole lot of them. I've seen and met these people, and they are so far up themselves its a disgrace. The entertainment writers and presenters in particular are fucking stupid. And these sorts of comments are fucking typical to cause a stir and they get off on the fact that they've generated this "talk".

Personally this is the best $180 I ever spent in my life. I'm not a rich person at all, I'm still paying off college fees from the last year or two, but this experience is going to mean alot.

And once again, they didn't bother to research the standard ticket prices for general sale, I can't remember where I saw this, but roughly $120 for Gold, and $80 or $90 for general tickets, which again, are not as expensive as other concert tickets for big name acts playing the same venue.

Sorry for the rant

General sales start next week.
I don't know how the pre-sale allocation was
But that was basically for people only with VISA cards, and only on the internet, so from what i have heard from people is waiting for general ticket sales either because they dont have a visa card, or dont like to pay on the internet, or aren't that desperate to get tickets, or can't be bothered.

We get Rose Tattoo and Sebastian Bach, so with GN'R it's probbaly like 4 hours of entertainment. Not to mention we may also get the chance of Axl jumping up on stage with Rose Tattoo to play Nice Boys! ok
