It's not the best song I ever heard, but it definetly has potential, it was catchy, I enjoyed the flow of the band instrumentaly, and I really like weiland's voice..

Having heard the maddy demo compared to the live boots, who knows how different this song can sound ion the record.. I like it.. Weiland's voice fits the song fine..

i'm gonna be honest, it has grown on me. i still feel like the riff is lackluster coming from someone of slash's caliber but oh well. also, weiland's lyrics could be better, sometimes i feel like hes run out of things to sing about since STP's Shangri La De Da. can't wait for a studio version.

Does anyone have the lyrics?
Here's my try...
Hold fast in love
Punch drunk, let it roll
Eyes cold as the snow
She built a quick dream
She used to keep her motor clean
...between the sheets?
She always quick to fight
We're breakin' thru tonight

I feel it when you push straight down
I can feel it when you stood their ground
Roll over right
Keep it though the night
Right
Right
Keep it though the night
Right in my sight
Keep it though the night
I?ll smash right though your spotlight

She ran away to Texas
To keep away the assholes
Old exit man just don't back taxes
She?s grown through inheritance
To dance across America
After the old man said she?s so far from home??

What you give is what you take
What you bleed is what you break
I?ll bleed...
for you
I?d steal...
for you
I?d take...

I'll wait till the album comes out to pass judgement, but I just hate this song. The chorus is terrible. Am I the only one who has mental images of a bunch of cheerleaders doing the cha-cha and singing "Keep it through the night, Keep it through the night"?  hihi

They will hard pressed to match "Slither", that tune is still a monster.

I've listened to it a handful, it's still just "meh" to me... I still prefer all the other songs we've heard so far.

In my case, the image of Gwen Stefani singing "Keep it through the night, Keep it through the night" surrounded by her japanese female friends came almost inmediatly  peace

I think "she builds quick machine" is a great song, live is kind of boring up to now, i think the studio version will be great. However, i don't think that "sbqm" has to be the first single.

Well i did not enjot listening to that it sounded awful there was no energy to it, but its live they have not played it much and other bands do get better as they get into thier touring (ahem) in act the only goo bit was slashs solo towards the end but even that wasnt mind blowing

Remember when we first heard the "Slither" boot and were mortified when we heard it was gonna be the first single?

Things turned out great and Slither ended up being awesome.

So hopefully the CD version will be great.

Right now though, this is not better than any song on CB in my opinion.

Slither rips the new songs to shreds and stomps on their remains.

But studio versions will decide ultimately... but still...  Grin

I thought I read somewhere where the single is being released today (15th).  Has anyone heard when it will be online?  Do singles usually go on radio the same day they are released?  I remember getting Slither from some Portugese site/radio show or something.  Man these past three years have flown by.
