The band forgot to throw in a few computer blips and beeps at the end of the 'trippy' middle section... I guess that's what seperates the good songs from the great!

Dylan didn't need to and his songs are great.

This is so similar to Exile On Main St.

I don't think Scott meant Libertad sounds like Exile, just that it is a quality album of that caliber.
I'll wait to hear the studio version before I make my final judgement.

Summary:

Mediocre riff
mediocre riff
bad half time chorus
mediocre riff
medicore riff
bad half time chorus
'trippy' middle section
really fast solo with boring riff backing it
chorus
riff

It's fantastic! A surefire hit!

I guess the only upside to this is that you saved Jarmo a post.

No he didn't, since you didn't stick to the topic.  ok

So, stick to the topic.

I like the drumming and the Slash.  Actually, the whole band (not counting scott) sounds great....  As for the lyrics, the part about texas is pretty bad too, but, he does have some catchy parts.

So far the songs are on par, and maybe more creative with CB.

This song is not that awful!  I think it blows Big Machine out of the water!

like thats hard to do.

if this is the first single, it should blow Slither out of the water, or at least be right up there next to it.

I wasn't that impressed either. I mean it sounds ok, but it hardly meets the hype that's been said about this album.

I'll still reserve my final judgement until I hear the studio version, but I like Let It Roll better than this song.

This is actually my least favorite of the new tracks. Im surprised that they didnt pick something else like get out the door for the first single since it seems like it could do pretty well getting some air play considering the catchyness of the chorus and what not.

The song is alot better after a few listens. Musically its superb. Some of the lryics arent very hot, but the melody is fine.

What the hell does Bob Dylan has to do with this? He is in Guns N Roses now? The best band in the world with mediocre songs after 15 years.

Make a similair summary for the GnR demo's that have leaked. Oh wait, that's not fair since it's only demos. But this is live so that's different.

BTW I can't wait for that amazing album of yours to come out soon, it's fantastic that it will be as good as Dylan's. Cause you know, Dylan is the standard for great music.

Seriously, I have never seen anyone as negative and hypocrite as you are posting on a forum. Maybe you should start practicing a sport or something, then you wouldn't take everything so seriously.

I like it more than Let It Roll. Great riff. Sounds a bit like Vasoline at the beginning. Waiting for the studios...

It's from Motley Crue's 'Looks That Kill'

lol its also from ACDC's "Shook me All Night Long".

i dunno this song isnt doing much for me, its not even close to Slither, which was an awesome choice for first single last time around and is still one of their best rock songs in my opinion.

this song just seems so simple, basic, or dare i say predictable. i dunno, i guess i should reserve my judgement until we hear a studio version. but i was just expecting more from them for this new album. i hope the rest of the record is better.

i guess the best way to put is, slither made me go "wow", this song makes me go, "meh".

slither really impressed me when i first heard it and was so good that i ended up seeing them live on the club tour before the record even came out, thats how much i like that song.

this new song just doesn't have the same impact on me, and probably on possible new fans who are just hearing it and deciding whether to buy the album or not.

Since you're slow to understand.

Great songs don't need computer blips and beeps. They're just great to start with. Somebody like Dylan has managed to write some.

As you can see, once again GN'R was brought into the conversation by one of your own VR supporters.

You guys are amusing.

I cant think of one bon jovi song that has that lyric. U find it, I will stand corrected and apologize.

Anyhow, What I have heard from the live versions, I think I like the Contraband songs better. Of course these are live recordings and not very good quality, so hopefully once the album comes out, I will like them more.

This is the worst of the three new songs played live. I heard them all in my pc, and I heard ''Let It Roll'' and ''She Builds Quick Machine'' last sunday at the River Plate Stadium.

They are not ''bad'', that's not the word... they are BORING, more of the same shit. Weiland, as usual, cant sing anything besides his tracks from STP (which ROCKED, especially ''Sex Type Thing'', the best song of the concert BY FAR)

VR started the sunday's show at River with this:

01) Do It For The Kids (with sound problems everywhere, and an almost unhearable bass)
02) New Song, in a huge rock festival with several band, and several kinds of crowds, of people with different musical tastes. C'mon man! Make the crowd explode! Provoke frenzy! We paid a very big amount of money for this, make us rock! But no, they open the show with a mediocre songs that no one knew, and they continued the show promoting their next album...

How do you want to ''evolve'' like this?

It must have been very hard to Weiland the night at River. It was SO obvious that 55.000 people were not looking at him while he was singing. This is the first time in my life that the whole crowd applaud NOT a song, NOT a band, but a single musician of a band. All the River Plate stadium applauded Slash while he was doing his solos, and when they ended, again, more time of boredom.
