Who is the greatest band of all time? Let us decide. Here's how to play. Choose one band per decade. When we have enough votes, we can match up the winners of each decade. Obviously, there is overlap between bands and the decades in which they were popular. And please just pick from the list even if you don't see your favorite, as to keep it simple.

The 1960s:

The Doors?
Bon Dylan
The Who
The Beatles?
The Rolling Stones
Jimi Hendrix
CCR

The 1970s:
Queen?
Led Zeppelin
David Bowie
Deep Purple?
Black Sabbath
KISS
Judas Priest

The 1980s:
REM
U2
The Cure
The Replacements
Motley Crue
Bruce Springsteen
Van Halen

The 1990s:

Guns N' Roses
Nirvana
Pearl Jam
Smashing Pumpkins
RATM
Nine Inch Nails
Alice In Chains
STP
Soundgarden
Radiohead
Marilyn Manson
Green Day

The 2000s (and these are slim pickins')

The White Stripes
The Strokes
Velvet Revolver
Audioslave
The Killers
The Shins

60s - Bob Dylan
70s - David Bowie
80s - Bruce Springsteen
90s - Guns N' Roses
00s - The Killers

Since Dylan, Bowie and Springsteen are solo acts, maybe we should call this the greatest Rock 'N Roll act instead of band?

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

60's - The Beatles
70's - Led Zeppelin
80's - Van Halen
90's - Guns N' Roses
2000's - god help us all with those choices.  I'd begrudgingly go with Velvet Revolver, but they don't even belong in the discussion.

i think they are, and considering there guitarist wrote one of the better heavy VR tracks "dirty little thing" i guess it goes to show there influence. Plus there singer has a far better range than deep monotone scott.

Roadstar won this years classic rock best newcomer award
The answer were in for best debut album but lost to maiden, respectively.

Both of them have had great reviews of there debut albums, and ive seen both and they put on a cracking live show.

Hardcore superstars newest album is just awesome.

and CRASHDIET, for me the best band of that type of rock/metal this decade has to offer, really great band.

as every body has said yet, this is really hard, actually impossible but anyway..

60's: CCR or The Who, no damn this is really hard,
70's: easily Sabbath
80's: GNR (I don't care if they were as among your 90's)
90's: RATM (only if i can't say GNR more times then once)
00's: Really hard but if i have to chose among "big" bands i'd say Buckcherry

hardest to decide was 60's and 00's, if i could i'd probably say GNR on 80's, 90's and 00's hihi

and yeah Wednesday 13 and murderdolls kix VR's ass and the other bands you mentioned nixon rofl

nobody has even mentioned pink floyd, ramones or sex pistols
