GILBY CLARKE: 'I Have Not Left ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA'

Former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Gilby Clarke has shot down reports that he has left ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA, the band he formed with Tommy Lee (M?TLEY CR?E), Jason Newsted (VOIVOD, ex-METALLICA) and Canadian vocalist Lukas Rossi.

ET Canada reported earlier in the week that ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA was "over" following Clarke's decision to leave the band. [To watch the ET Canada report, go to this location and click on "Supernova to Change Name" from a list of videos at the bottom of the page.] However, in a statement issued earlier today (Saturday, April 14), Clarke said, "I have not left ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA. We just finished the tour. I don't know where they got that from. I did an interview with ET Canada, and we talked about the future of the band, but I never said I've left the band."

I had a feeling that would happen-the interviewer drew the conclusion that since Gilby had booked some solo dates, that he had left the band-I think Gilby will always sprinkle in solo gigs

I wouldn't be surprised if he has actually left supernova. Bands tend to deny things like this when it leaks out before it's suppose to.

I think the band actually has a shot at being successful. The problem with the 1st cd and tour was that it seemed way to fake and commercial.  I mean there name was Rockstar Supernova, not exactly the most credible name. If they get a good name and make some good music I think they'll have a shot!

The band was put togheter by CBS and the winner was chosen on reality tv... Cant get much more commerical than that...

The name thing was the producers fault from the begining... They knew "supernova" was taken.. But they thought they would win in court... Dumb bastards...

And I read what Gilby said somewhere in some interview. I guess he didn't like the music they were making.

Not sure it means Tommy is bi-he may have done it for shock value-remember the Red Hot Chili Peppers video in '95? I really don't think Anthony Kedis is bi, especially after reading his book
