some things u patriot fans are overlooking
NE hasnt played a QB like Donovan Mcnabb
second Westbrook was hurt last year which is why Philly lost to carolina
Philadelphia has a defense that will be able to get to Brady
they have the Defensive backs to shut down the receivers
Pitt has a good Defense but Roethlisberger lost that game by throwing those picks.
Mcnabb is a 10 time better QB than Roethlisberger.
when they do all that help coverage and sit back in there zones, Mcnabb will burn them with his feet
reason they beat Indy was cause they made Manning turn into a mobile QB, manning sucks on the run
they would drop 7 to 8 sometimes 9 in coverage on roethlisberger and he made poor decisions
MCnabb, if they drop that many in coverage will run for over a 100 yards.
the philly D will be the toughest NE has faced *yes even tougher than pittsburghs cause philly has the Defensive backs that pitt dont have.
close game philly wins 19-13
watch and see!
you relize that the pats gameplan doesnt remane the same every week right? they change it based on who they are playing, and belichick is a master at finding and exposing a teams weakness. and westbrook has not gone against LB as good as the patriots have, so they will be able to contain him. mcnabb has to have a huge game for the eagles to win. the patriots make so few mistakes....they smoked indy, and then killed the steelers in pitt. while the eagles beat the 8-8 vikings, and a one dementional atlanta offense. the patriots played in a strong afc while the eagles walked threw a weak nfc, esp a weak nfc east. i do agree with a lot of the things you said though, and thats why i expect a good game.

So Roethlisberger gave up 41 points?
The Defense in Pittsburgh is run by Roethlisberger?
granted he turned the ball over (NE caused turn overs) but he didnt stay on the field for the drubbbing that Pitts D took
By the way Pitts D is much better than Philly's
I would also go out on a limb and say that as a whole Indys D sucks but their DLine is better than Philly's.... I dont seem to remember Indy getting to Brady too often.
Speaking of Philly's D, how do they plan on stopping Corey Dillon?? They didn't seem to Stop a Pittsburg running attack earlier this year that didn't have Duece. They gave up over 200 yards without Duece Staley
Now are you acctually compairing Phillys Offense to Indy's??
McNabb doesnt compare to Manning, Westbrook Doesn't compare to James, and Philly's WR's don't compare to Indy's WR's
McNabb will also have a hard time running against NE's Zone. Their LB's will be squared to the line of scrimmage all game so they will see when he makes a move for the corner and will shut that down.
Just a note to add to my prior post of NE 38, Philly 10 (Philly's 10 points will all be scored on Special Teams (Westbrook Return and Akers FG) they will not put up an offensive score.

Well, I think the Patriots will score a lot of goals in the beginning, but in the end, the Eagles will have the most homeruns. I just hope my favorite player doesn't get five for fighting.
Who are you rooting for D? Because I want the opposite team to win.

every team NE beat in the playoffs were flawed
Indy's Defense was horrible, Peyton Manning choked, thats the ony excuse i have, Manning is a pocket passer and theydid a great job making him move outside the pocket
Mcnabb can throw on the run and in the pocket, he is the most versatile QB New England has faced.
Philly has 3 pro bowlers in the defensive secondary and one of the greatest Defensive coordinators in the game *jim johnson*
38-10 is ridiculous
Pittsburgh have better Linebackers *although Trotter is one of the best in the game but pitt dont have great DB's
indy and pitt couldnt get pressure on Brady because theydidnt have the secondary to play man coverage
philly has that ability
they can blitz 7 guys and still have the talent to cover the receivers.
Atlanta had one of the better Defenses in football and Mcnabb has no troubles
regular season is meaningless, so what? Pitt also drilled NE in the regular season but look what happened?
Pittsburgh had chances but they kicked that FG on 4th and goal instead of goin for the TD and Roethlisberger threw that pick to harrison that came back for a TD
they beat an INdy team with a horrible defense, the beat Pitt with a rookie QB
Philly is the most complete team NE will play this year
if T.O. is healthy philly will win
with T.O. and the depleted NE secondary, Rodney Harrison will have to help out Samuel.
what this does is it places a slower LB or Safety on Westrbrook and a LB or safety wont be fast enough to cover him.
It also doesnt allow NE to spy Mcnabb who will be able to keep drives alive with his legs.
anyone expecting a blowout are gonna be in for a rude awakening.
both of these teams have an equal chance in myopinion and it will go down to the last possession.

I expect this to be the toughest game for both teams. these teams did see each other in the preseason but i dont make much of that. the patriots have not seen a qb like mcnabb this year, who can beat you with his legs as well as his arm. they have a tough D that is gonna be psychial with the pats, who love to push teams around. however they are kinda small up front and with a big tough back like dillon for the pats he could have a big game, they wont be able the stake upfront like they did against one dimentional atlanta, if they do the pats will burn them in the air. the weakness with the eagles has to be the recievers, other than TO who prob wont be 100% they dont have much to worry about, they will hit those guys all day long, and prob try and make philly run. mcnabb is gonna have to make some big plays in this game if they are gonna win, like scramble for a 1st on 3rd and 10. stuff like that. westbrook is gonna be a key for the eagles to win as well, but the pats LBs are so good he will prob be contained. th eagles D can prob get in bradys face and force him into mistakes, and that is another key the eagles need to win. the patroits can win this game in basically any fasion, cuz they cant beat you in any way, low scoring high scoring throwing running defense special teams.....as long as they play well and dont turn it over its gonna be really hard for the eagles to win. if philly turns the ball over a few times they are gonna get killed, and bellichick is an expert and finding and exploiting a teams weakness.

Just for the record, I'd like to restate that I'm a 49'ers fan. Hence, I really don't have a favorite when it comes to the Patriots or Eagles. That said, I'm rooting for Philly and - admittedly against the odds - I think they'll pull away with a close win.
31-21 is a realistic outcome but, as you say you've been waiting for this game for a long time, who are you going for?

i'm a die hard birds fan from philly. i'm so nervous right now i can't even think. thought i was gonna have a heart attack about an hour ago.
i think alot of people don't realize how good this eagles team is. the defense is much improved and should give the pats some trouble.
and westbrook is one of the most dangerous threats in the league.
two great teams. could go either way. i've been waiting most of my life for another philly team to win a title. since this is philly we're talking about, i'm sure the pats will win.

24-21 Patriots the winner. I thought it was a good exciting game but also there were a lot of mistakes, esp early. i have not seen the pats make that many mistakes in a 1st qtr very often the last few years. but it was a close entertaining game throughout. McNabb made a few too many mistakes, and when you have 4 TOs against the pats you are gonna lose. I have to admit i didnt think TO was gonna be as big of a factor as he was, i thought he would make a few plays but he kept them in the game. The Eagles were unable to run the ball and when that happened i thought they were in trouble. Patriots are a dynasty now 3 SB wins in 4 years, only the 2nd team, and 1st afc team, to ever do that. I think the 3 SBs the patroits have won are prob the 3 best SBs i have seen, those have been great as well as SB 32 and 25

Terrell Owens has shut reporters up for good
he was awesome
when mcnabb threw that pic and the penalty reversed it and then he got picked again something inside told me that would come back to haunt them in the end
had they just got a FG outta that it wouldve been tied at the end
Philly played great
NE gets all the credit in the world they are a masterpiece of a fuckin team
unbelievable
Tom Brady is easily the best QB in the league and id take Mcnabb over manning.

opps .... I went to a friends house. but I got 1 number right. I didn't want to say that "but the eagles are going to loose when McNabb cracks" I get very superstitious & didn't think the Eagles were going to win, I wasn't even excited about the game. The end of the game was very strange. anyway, I added a TD to your 24 & that's how I got my 31. Nice call on your part!!!

"Had" Brady not fumbled in the Red Zone on the botched Play Action and they scored the game would have been out of reach
"Had" Eugene Wilson not broken his arm, there is a good chance that Philly doesn't score its last two touchdowns and it is 24-7 (31-7 if you add a touchdown when Brady fumbled)
I learned a few things durring that game:
1. T.O. is a true freak of nature, anyone who realisticly thought he would comeback from that injury and play the way he did in that short a time frame is kidding themselves (or is a Philly Fanatic).
2. McNabb isn't half the quarterback he is made out to be. He threw 51 passes and 7 of them were what I would consider accurate, and all he did was turn the ball over. Christ, he fumbled on the first play from scrimage inside his own thirty (luckily for the eagles it was overturned (correctly)) and what happened to him taking the game over with his feet??
3. Andy Ried is the most overrated coach in the league. How do you take over with 85 Yards to cover in 5 minutes and piss the clock down under 2 minutes. The whole time working out of a huddle and letting your team walk to the line. He had them playing like they were trying to conserver a lead.

LOL - very true. Everyone laughed at me when I said that he was ready because he jumped up and down the entire previous game on the bench.

McNabb had no time at all. Brady had all the time in the world to look around and decide what to do and he still made mistakes. When McNabb was given some time, he made beautiful plays - like the pass for the last Philly TD.

yeah i was cussing more than few times screaming "u are down 10 u stupid bastards"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
some thing Philly needs
1. gotta have a true Running back? throwing the football 51 times is ridiculous, Westbrook isnt a true runner in the corey dillon, jamal lewis sense of the word, he is more like trung candidate with a little more skill. they need a true RB to mix things up.
to clear things up about Donovan Mcnabb and u all tell me how ridiculous this is
he came out a week or two ago and said that he wanted to be known as a pocket passer and wanted to destroy the stereotype that black QB's are running QB's
i started a thread over at espnvideogames.com and stated
Mcnabb would rather shed stereotype than win superbowl
its true, if he had used his feet i thought before and i still believe now they wouldve won the superbowl.
he was way too inconsistent *of course give NE the credit there*
some plays he looked like john elway others he looked like Ryan Leaf
Rodney Harrison shouldve been the MVP in my opinion however.
TO has or should have shut all these naysaying critics up for good
im a randy moss fan but i tell u what, TO is the best receiver in football.
Congrats NE and their fans and lets see if they can keep it up without Crenell and Weiss
Ty Law is gone!!!!!!!! he started all that bullshit before the season, he makes a load of money and they won without him
See ya Ty!! thanks for the memories!
by the way do u know who one of bill belichek's best friends is? u guessed it Jon Bon Jovi
Jon wrote the song "bounce" in dedication to Belicheck * call it karma, call it luck me i just dont give a ................
bounce bounce nothings gonna keep us down bounce bounce stand up and shout it out bounce bounce i play hard i play to win count me out count me in ill be bouncing back again.
its awesome!!!! Bill also helps JOn with his Arena football Philly Soul team.

McNabb + Any sense of urgency = Notta. He needs to learn what a "no huddle" offense is quick.
Congratulations to the Patriots.
