Bumble,

I saw you at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon last December.? It rocked.

I think the "Don't Cry" solo should stay, because it's just got the perfect groove for a solo at a GN'R concert.? I also love watching the audience slowly figure out what's happening.? If you had to switch it up, I'd say go for some deep cuts from the UYI albums.? Maybe even put a few together.? "Don't Damn Me" has never been performed live by GN'R, and that's a crime considering how fat and juicy that riff is.  "The Garden" could also offer up an awful lot of groovy solo opportunities.

PS - When you guys played in Portland, you gave us "Madagascar" for the finale, but no "Paradise City."? Care to fill the faithful in on why that happened?? I don't think there have been many shows where "Paradise City" didn't bring the curtain down...

Chinese Democracy Is Coming Some Day!!!

« Reply #82 on: April 09, 2007, 07:06:33 PM »

I was at Cleveland in 2006, and I feel as if Dont Cry needs to stay just play a little of the song, and mix in some other GnR classics that get over looked at the shows. I would also like if Bumble would add more of his own material into the solos and just step up each night and just play whatever comes to his head.

1 - 7 shows since 2006: 1st 2 Hammerstein, 2 Las Vegas and 3 LA!!!

2 - Instrumental Don't Cry - I think you should retire it for at least this year.

3 - I think you should do an instrumental medley featuring some GNR songs and perhaps some non GNR just to keep things fresh.  For example:  You Ain't the First, Civil War, Don't Damn Me could work in some kind of medley and with a sweet outtro of Double Talkin' JIVE!!! Some other songs you can throw in to keep things interesting are perhaps something from Kiss and Van Halen and AC/DC.

you've done so much for GNR fans, thank you and keep up the rocking this year and beyond! Cheers Ron!!

Yo, BBF, Purchase Grad here '94. I was V.A., but had a lot of friends on the Third Floor. (He'll know what I mean).

1) Felt Forum '88, MSG 02, Hammerstein May 17, 2007.

2) Keep it. If Axl won't go near it, and we the fans are mostly unanimous, keep it.

3) Estranged. ESTRANGED. estranged. E-S-T-R-A-N-G-E-D.

See you at Campus Center North for coffee to discuss further.

Well if your just counting the lineup with Bumblefoot, I saw you 5/12/06 at Hammerstein in New York, and 11/3/06 in West Virginia.  I say you play Nottingham Lace (killer Buckethead solo) j/k, go with "The General" or "Civil War".

Keep the solo, because we all know that's something axl won't play. If nobody appreciates it, I do because it's by far my favorite song.

If you want to shorten it a bit or maybe do a mix of Don't Cry and Civil War in the same solo, that would rock also.

I haven't been to any shows but have seen and heard the boots - and can't wait to see Ron in Australia! He is awesome to the fans and I can see why he is so popular amongst the fans already. It is very cool that you are asking the fans what we would like to hear you play on your solo spot  smoking

I like the idea above, a medley of a few songs, great idea. I'd like to year a little Yesterdays in there.

1 - How many shows you've been to and where
2 - Instrumental Don't Cry - keep it or ditch it?
3 - what other instrumental version of a song would ya dig hearin' in future solo spots (and singin' along with - it's for *you*, don't wanna do it without y'all being part of it...)

1- been to all 5 of the NYC shows last year
2- keep it.. hearing all of madison square garden singing don't cry on top of a pure guitar rendition was fuckin magical, man
3- Civil War would be a kickass one to do and is sure to have the majority of the crowd singing along.. and it'd be somewhat socially relevant today as well

I did not had the chance to see the band live last year (I had fucking appendicite when I was supposed to see you guys in Paris rant rant )

But ... YouTube gave me the chance to watch you soloing on a lot of dates (loved the Grinch Theme !) and of course Don't Cry is an awsome moment.

I'd love to hear some notes from Estranged yes

Also, I want to thank you Ron, you're doing a lot for us fans. Thankx.

Hey Bumblefoot

1. Hammersmith, Download & Wembley Arena last year and back in 91

2. Don't lose it completely but maybe play it as and when the mood feels right

3. I think GN'R members should play some of there own material from time to time, both yourself and Tommy have solo albums with great songs on. Other than that Estranged!

Ron

1 - Too many too list now.? Nevertheless, had the time of my life at each and every one and would like to send my thanks to you for your part in making this incarnation of GNR so phenomenal.

2 - Keep it - although I suspect you're being a tad too generous in your comment about wanting us to be a part of it. ?As one of the vocally-challenged guilty party who attempted to sing it each time, I'm still hopeful that it would have eventually proved too much for Axl's ears to bear and lead him to think about reintroducing it into the main set on the next leg of the tour.?

3 - I'd love to hear your interpretation of Estranged.

3. Civil War and/or Estranged,  no doubt about it.

Hey Ron,

I saw you guys at Hammersmith, I didnt even realised you played Dont Cry as a solo untill beinga  download Motehrfucker I heard the bootleg from the gis and spotted it.
So keep it in the set as next time your in UK I want to hear it, also I think something like Yesterdays or how about Jumpin jack Flash by the stones is recognisable, plus im sure you may get to support the Stones soon.
So yes im a download motherfucker.
Oh and Ron, James Dean Bradfield played Its So Easy better than you  rofl

Please can you get the Manics to be your support band for UK when you get here.........

Oh just a dream lineup.
