hmmm...... not so sure about May 29th,
this is from http://www.velvetrevolver.com/wp/

March 29th, 2007
Tour and Album News

Hard rocking supergroup Velvet Revolver, consisting of former members of Guns N? Roses along with Stone Temple Pilots? frontman Scott Weiland and Wasted Youth?s Dave Kushner, are putting the finishing touches on a new release, Libertad, and have been busy scheduling dates for the spring and summer in support of the album.

The band will launch their live assault with a six-date swing through South America beginning April 10 at the Pista Atletica in Santiago, Chile and wrapping up April 20 at Parque Metropolitano Simon Bolivar in Bogota, Columbia.

Next up is the 11-city U.S. leg of the tour, which kicks off May 4 at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, CA, and will make stops at a number of hot clubs and theatres around the country including San Francisco?s Warfield Theatre, Chicago?s Riviera Theatre and the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C., before finishing off May 22 at the Nokia Theatre Times Square in New York.

In June, the band will head to Europe for 17 dates with heavy emphasis on festival appearances including Rock Im Park and Rock Am Ring in Germany, Sweden?s Hultsfred Festival, Fields Of Rock in the Netherlands and Monsters Of Rock in Spain.

Libertad, scheduled for release in June, is the follow-up to VR?s Grammy winning 2004 debut, Contraband. The band originally planned to record the album with producer Rick Rubin, but when that fell through, frontman Scott Weiland tapped Brendan O?Brien and the band began working on the album last December.

I too like the artwork.  But this album better fuckin' deliver.  You can't put skeletons on a lame album.  If you do, you're banished to rock n' roll hell.

Velvet Revolver's 2004 debut album was an immediate, chart-topping hit, but Scott Weiland wasn't anxious to repeat Contraband's straight-ahead hard-rock formula. Instead, the band's second disc is layered with melody, slippery funk and wild effects, plus Slash's trademark guitar. "It has texture and depth," Weiland says. "This is the kind of record I wanted to make."

Let's not start sucking each other's dicks just yet... this sounds a lot like the kind of talk Audioslave made for either their 2nd or 3rd album and that didn't work out too well.

On the flip side, does anyone else think that they're deliberately holding back Slash's material in the Vlogs?  He's either about to break into a solo or just mucking around in all the videos, maybe he's got something good in store for us and they're saving it.

I agree with your sentiment about holding off on proclaiming the album as great already, but I think we have reason to be very optimistic because Brendan O'Brien is going to make the album sound much more guitar heavy I hope than Contraband was. The guy has an awesome track record, and to a man they were all saying how awesome Slash sounded when recording the album so when you add all that up I think we could see something good out of these guys.

They are certainly motivated to follow up with a strong album after Contraband's success, and you have to believe it was much easier to record a true group album this time with Scott not having to do so on work release while he was away in jail the way he did with Contraband.

(Scarface - 1983)

That's how I feel. I'm definitly on board for the next VR record and look foward to seeing them back on stage again with a whole bunch of new songs (sounds like someone who hasn't come thru yet).

"This is the kind of record I wanted to make."

Im not bashing Weiland. but i think its funny how every artist says 'this is what i wanted to make' about every album... i can see why though, since its the newest thing theyve been working on, but i just find it funny.

its almost like they are dismissing past albums (even though they arent) its just wierd to say it about everything.

oh well, it makes me laugh Cheesy

cant wait for the album, its gonna friggin rock. this is looking to be my best year for music, Libertad, Year Zero (which is fucking amazing) and [hopfully] Chinese Democracy.

What a year this is... oh yeah and the Die Hard 4 film. woo.

Jim Bob..I have to disagree with you.. I still believe in Slash..he is the reason I even pickewd up a guitar in the first place.. yes you do have your right to an opinion about the whole thing..but why so negative?  The album 'll probably be great..I can't wait to hear it.. but whatever..to each their own right?

You of all people should know what it is like to have hope in an artist that they can recapture the type of magic they once showed even if they haven't written a thing in almost 20 years that approaches the brilliance of their most famous albums. That is why we are all at this board after all.
