I know that Axl and Gilby are on friendly terms and whatnot, but I just find it a bit odd.

None of us know for a fact that Axl wasn't there.

He rehearsed with the band in NYC last year so why not LA?

just speculation but axl really doesn't need to be there now.. he'd probably be in a few times the last week of rehersals IMHO

New drummer Frank kicks ass

At first I took that as Brain is out of the band.
Then I thought, what does Eddietruvk know anyway?
Brain is after all busy with his family.

A part of me still thinks Brain isn't in Gn'R these days  peace

I've been out of the loop for awhile

Is Frank the official new drummer? Or is he still filling in?

Who Knows!! Gnr camp says hes still in, but its been almost a year since hes played with the band. and Frank has added tracks to Chinese democracy. how many times are fill ins let to record on an album?

yeah he played with gnr in september... that's almost a year right..... Roll Eyes

they are both in the band.. brain is taking a break, that's the word, that's what's official and that's what we should believe until we get something new, brain himself said that he was gonna rock out with gnr in 07 in an interview

i hope you're right, but for some reason all indications point to brain being out of the band. i dont understand why the band cant give clarification of brain's status.................the reality is some of us know he has left, but the camp has just said nothing about it..

the reality is that some of you are just assuming so.
I can't see the necessity for the band/camp to give the same clarification again and again.

I e-mailed Eddie about what he heard at the rehersal and he was gracious enough to repsond saying it was an amazing experience and that the band sounds great.  Not surprisingly, he couldn't give away any details, as he is held in confidence.  I think we have great things in store.  The tour is only a few weeks away  peace

« Reply #50 on: March 31, 2007, 11:59:53 PM »

what excited me the most was trunk talking about them playing new songs. i can't wait till the world tour starts. i wonder how the set list will divided now, maybe a couple more new songs than usual, with them rotating them a bit every night? [mouth waters] lol.

Trunk is a fucking cocksucker.. Yeah Eddie Trunk, I'm calling you out as another fucking journalistic hack who would suck cock for attention. Get a fucking proper job dude, no-one is INTERESTED in what you have to say, just let the guests who visit your show have a few words.

By the way you fat fucking asshole, no-one wants to hear shit about Van Halen during an interview with Ron Thal. SHUT THE FUCK UP. Let the guest talk. Here, I got a cock for you to suck while you think that one over.

Trunk, just fuck off and do what you do best: WHORE YOURSELF.

Oh.. and another thing.. Trunk would NEVER make some thing up to further his career.. NO!

A little bit of extreme language....but I agree with your point.
I am actually surprized not many people see it that way.

I mean, Eddie basically ruined both of BBF's interviews. Eddie behaved as if he was the star and the center of attention and that the listeners were more interested in him and his bio than in BBF's.

Yeah, ok, the Axl appearance on his show was fun but that was because there were many other people in the studio and Eddie could not manipulate and lead the interview the way he would want. Plus, this was the first extensive Axl interview in 13 years and as such was guaranteed to be super interesting and fun. If Axl had chosen to do such an appearance in any other radio or tv show, it would have been just as fun.

I am not saying it would be a bad idea, but a future appearance of Guns on Eddie Trunk would help promote his show much more than it would help promote the album. Especially if it is on his sattelite radio show - those do not have as many listeners as some think (for reference, check what's happening to Howard Stern's career).

Eddie answered DoubleTalkingJive's email at RosesofVelvet.com

He basically said Axl wasn't there, Gilby wasn't there, and no comments on any new songs.

No surprize here..
If Eddie had met Axl at rehearsal, by now he would've milked the hell out of this event....Unless of course Axl had him sign one of those non-disclosure agreements... Wink

i have to agree entirely. he should remember that the show isnt for him, its for us. if its for him, he should just talk to himself a lot. then no one would interrupt.

When Eddie comments about how it was great to hear the many "new" songs, he could  be just talking about the "new" songs we've already heard.  It doesn't necessarily mean we're in store for a huge setlist change.

When he said the new songs sounded great, could that hypothetically mean old GNR songs that they haven't played yet? Perhaps Bad Obsession or Civil War?  Don't get me wrong I would love more CD songs but wouldn't mind hearing Bad Obsession or Civil War too.
