Well I simply despise new music, but I have really got into this band called, avenged sevenfold.  Sometimes I watch fuse, and they have a hit song called "bat country", it is dedicated to the late Hunter S Thompson.  I watched it there, and take it that Mtv, at least I haven't seen it there, will never play something as epic, well in the sense of being epic for today, which inturn is totally not in the same vein as this generic fucking crap, that little teens are bobbing there heads too, due to the fact there parents have failed.  If you can get used to his voice, you will like the musicians, they do have a hit, but they aren't it seems, selling out.  If you like the pumpkins and you can cope with corgans voice like I can, than you will have not a problem, coping with his voice.  The cd is solid, with punk influencing its ebb and flow, the guitar work on the album is all over the place, the riffs the solos, and the melodies, allow you to not get bored with this band.  You can hear the influences in there music, a little iron maiden, punk of any kind, pantera, and yes folks a little post gnr happening, with a few orchestrations, big solos, like the song "seize the day", it almost, and not going to go over board, but the songs solo sounds like slash's hand was resting on the guys shoulder

some little fact:  Before this album the singer screamed like a cookie monster, until his voice, obviously got fucked up, leading him to the same trainer who helped Axl once, and yes folks uncle axl does come out some time especially on the outro of the songs, you know how he kind of has the fade out like growl toward the end of a song, yeah well it sounds alot like that.  Any ways I will shut up about this band, but they are pretty promising band, in such a muck of depraved musical lack there of.

oh and the singers favorite albums are UYI  I & II that is why I bought the album, but from one gnr fan to the other, imagine that.   peace
