ya ever watch a movie, and when someone goes to swear they edit in the same person saying the word in a different tone to cover it up?? what are some of the worst youve seen!

I found these funny.

1.Total recall-arnold says "thats bullshit" and in the censored version he goes "thats (and then in a different tone) Baloney"
2.Diehard. yippie i eh mother fucker was changed to mother framer hihi

3. and in austin powers goldmember i had to laugh at the fact they changed Balls to "boys" in a whole different tone/voice

lol you think thats bad, watch rush hour on ABC family, any movie on there that was cool to begin with they turn gay so its "suitable for families". When did we all turn Morman? We are all grown up here aren't we, we have a right to hear naughty words and see naked tities on TV. If your offended by the program then change the channel. I hate the FCC, they take all the fun out of everything. Damn republicans rant

i dont remember what they have dubed over on some of the movies but God they are so lame. Like we can't tell the diff

Scarface.

I think that the line (one of them, at least) was along the lines (ahem) of 'how'd you get a scar like that eating pussy?,' that got changed to 'how'd you get a scar like that eating pineapple?'

Haha

Blockbuster is actually cutting out things in ALLOT of movies that most people are unaware of. (Not the Producers or movie company)

In Booty Call, while standing on the sidewalk in front of an apartment building, Jamie Fox called some Asian lady a "Chink" in a ghetto way that wasn't really intended as a racial slur. Blockbuster cut over a minute out of the movie so that you don't even see or hear Jamie talking to the other guy up in the window before going to the store to get.... I forgot if it was the saran wrap or condoms.

They also cut out allot of weed things on their own. (Not the Producers or movie company)

According to whom? Blockbuster barely has the resources to find it's own ass with both hands, I doubt they'd pay for the rights involved in editing, reproducing and distributing a "Blockbuster only" cut of any movie unless they had exclusive rental rights to the original property.

yeah thats what i thought, i dont think they would have the finances or the rights to be able to edit films that are not theirs... i think it's stupid that they would do that... thats why each and every movie has ratings...

I like the one TBS did on National Lampoons vacation just before christmas. You know the parts where shit is supposed to be said. When the little girl is supposed to say we still got shit. It we still got the shaft. When clark is ranting about his boss not giving a bonus he's supposed to say monkey shit but says monkey stuff. Then there's the part where he says tap dancing with danny fucking kay. They cut it out completely and  he just says danny kay.

I'm not going to sit here and argue the logistics of the exact process. It's an industry fact that Blockbuster does this, the same way Wal Mart is so sensitive about certain music... like the "Wal Mart versions" of music CD's.

Whether Blockbuster does it themselves or just tells the movie company, "We won't carry it unless...," it doesn't take away from the fact that Blockbuster is the reason for censorship that's happening on a level that most people are unaware of.

Blockbuster doesn't have a say in what cuts of a movie are available to them. They can choose to stock an edited version, but no movie studio is going to be pushed around by an irrelevant "force" like Blockbuster. Even before the rental window became a thing of the past, the major studios weren't paying any attention to Blockbuster's needs, and why should they? Studios release different edits for different markets for maximum penetration - it's not as if they're making a killing with those airline edits but they aren't going to turn down money for nothing.

You can call it  an "industry fact" and equate Blockbuster's influence with WalMart's and it might sound like a convincing argument to the uninformed but if you're familiar with the business side of the industry at all then you know fully well that any influence Blockbuster ever had, even at the height of its success, was not only marginal but quickly eroded by the home video market and whatever remained dissipated with the rental window. Rental profits barely register in studio finances, massively eclipsed by just about every other revenue stream (except, perhaps, those airline edits).

Now, WalMart. . . that's another story. Because we all know that they don't stock R-rated movies - oh, except all of the successful ones released by major studios.

Haha, yeah Wal-Mart is a pure crock of hypocritical shit when it comes to their electronic department.? God forbid them to sell a version of Appetite for Destruction which has fuck said in it maybe 3 or 4 times at the most.....and yet sell copies of UNRATED versions of the Hills Have Eyes remake which shows a woman getting her head blown off, etc.? Eh they're too busy selling rifles to children to worry about stuff like that!

Anyhow the worst censor I've heard recently is from Kill Bill vol. 1 on TNT last night.? I hadn't seen it in a while and noticed it was on so I said what the hell.? At the hospital scene where Uma is having her flashbacks of Buck, he utters the line, "My name is Buck and I came here to fuck."? On the edited version it goes, "My name is Buck and I came here to...party."? They even shot alternate scenes to make the pussy wagon, the party wagon.? Lame.?

Major League, replacing "fucker" with "guy" in one of the last few scenes.  The entire line is shouted, but "guy" is just stated blandly.  The best way I can describe it is like this...

"STRIKE THIS guy OUT!"
