It's actually:

You were the one who would do anything,
the one who can't recall
where she was while she was sleeping
in another woman's bed
or the doctors or the lawyers or
a stranger that she met

They better have that sick choir intro in the studio version of this song. That adds to the epic value of the song.

Of course, it's the epic touch + Bucketsolo that makes the song classic? ok

The robin part is better
Cmon dave. I'll give Finck credit where credit is due, but that BH outro 'owns'.

I still think robins solos are better

Do you guys prefer the keyboards over the verses that they have in the alternate version?

Axl's writing and Bucket's outro owned this song.

Yes. That is the best part of the whole song, you just can go wrong with a song that has tears in it. Crash Diet/there was a time. brilliant.

Love that song more and more. And the live version rocks. I hope they keep the intro that is live on the album. (guess they will)

Both robin and bucket shine on the demo, and on IRS and better demos. peerlessly amazing combination.

They better have that sick choir intro in the studio version of this song. That adds to the epic value of the song.

I don't like it.

The piano at the beginning is supposed to resemble the ticking of a clock. In the demo leak, it's as if you're getting hypnotized by listening to the rhythm of the clock, and the song emerges when you're fully pulled into the hypnosis.

The live version with the choir loses this effect. Hopefully they do not keep it on the studio version.

The choir intro does sound cool, but would be better used on a different song.

Agree that the intro on the demo is very effective. The very first honk makes my hear throb.
It halfway puts me in drowsy and somehow uneasy mode.
I don't know, to me it  evokes pulses from electrocardiographs in an ICU that, although being well lightened all day and all night, always dims. If you sat at a patient's bedside in the night, you'd lose a sense of time. You'd feel as if there wasn't a time in there or even there was no such a thing as time in the world.

I haven't heard a good live recording of the song.
I prefer songs played differently at concerts from the records.

Just seen that performance of TWAT and that is one of the best things I have seen at the start when Axl and Tommy hug and Axl says something along the lines of: 'you have no idea quite how much that means' that shows just how tight this band are and how much they think of one another. Mike
