i hate to say this, so ill say it once and thats it, i dont want the trhead to be about slash, but....IMAGINE Slash soloing over that outro........my god, it would be amazing!!! robin keeps playing the same notes, in the same octave.....bending the same notes over n over. Slash would be ripping on this.

but anyway, yeah...twat outro is awesome!

If you pay attention, Robin REALLY plays the same thing again and again... it's meant to be that way, it's more of a melody, than a solo...

Anyway... Up there with the greatest songs of GNR... Really.... Tommy's comment about earth-shattering was absolutely right on...

Which version of TWAT do you think will be on Chinese Democracy?  The original 6:01 version or the 6:43 extended version??  I think both are great and that Axl can't go wrong either way.

My observations on all 3-

I think they all sound pretty good.  Better is best, TWAT second, IRS third (IMO, based on what I've heard so far).

I think the choruses on IRS and TWAT are subpar, but I still think we're listening to rough cuts.  In fact, on IRS and TWAT, I think these might be scratch vocals.  I can't help but notice that Axl is spending a whole lot of time WAY UP in the upper register of his voice, especially on Better and TWAT.    Has anyone noticed that there was a similar quality to his voice on that shitty old demo of  'Just Another Sunday' as in the very beginning of IRS?   Hoping they get that patched up before the final master.

I also hope Axl is doing some serious cardio getting ready for the tour.  These songs are gonna be a real bastard to sing live three or four times a week.

Finally, here I've been waiting however long to hear Axl on something knew, and yet I think the best parts of all three songs are the musicians in this new band.  These guys truly rock.

Brain's last beats on the snaredrum on the short version is EXACLY the same as Lars' last beats on Sad But True, lol.
not only that, but I kinda get a Black album feel from all these songs. maybe it's the production or arrangements or something cos it's not similar music-wise, hehe.

This song is amazing. The ending is really epic. Kinda reminds me of the end of estranged in a way. I cant say the first couple of 'chorus' type parts ('it was long time with you, it was a long time with me') are as strong as the rest but it really is gonna be amazing to hear this as the finished product.

I liked this song right away, but it gets better the more you listen to it. There are subtle things going on. It's not instantly assessable IMHO, but it is a very strong track that will sure be among Axl's great compositions, if it is ever officially released.

in the demo the chorus of twat is a bit sucky sucky......after that it's great!! It would be cool if the intro was way longer. The piano thing with the orchestra beginning is way too short and overall the orchestra needs to be louder. Sometimes the solo's following the vocal lines are a bit too much and long. That's what annoyed me a bit on the chorus. But I'm not complaining at all. This one is just a demo, it will be even better and better on studio quality, the song has November Rain / Estranged potentional!! ?

Yes, I do. I like great guitar music.

I don't say it's a bad song, but I expected more. When I heard the song's title years ago, I had big expectations. I don't know why. As years went by I lost almost all my interest in Axl's project. This week it has changed. I liked the good quality IRS, and found pleasure in Better. And then the TWAT leak... but this song is not for me. I have no problem with the first part, I liked The Fragile, and this song could have been on that album. It seems that everyone likes the second part, but me. (However the Pink Floyd-ending is good). I don't like the guitars. Don't get me wrong, I think BH had amazing moments in IRS, but this song sounds like some guys trying to sound like Slash. But they aren't Slash, so it turns out bad. I'd rate this song 6/10.

Can anyone else here picture a kick-ass music video for TWAT?  I swear to god, it would kick ass.  A happy Axl walking into the house feeling great with a gift bag or somethin', only to find her not waiting there for him...broken glass and cigarettes...and you slowly see the emotion sinking into anger, reminiscing over beautiful memories...despair...yet finishing with matter of fact realization it just wasn't meant to be...and that can be good.
