This Never Happened, It's Just a Dream...

« on: March 24, 2007, 02:05:15 PM »

Last we heard the album was being mixed, when the tenative date past. Know that we are on the verge of a world tour, I think we will hear something regarding the album soon as April 14th draws closer. We realize that we don't have right to know everything, however we still have some burning questions. What has the band been up too? What kind of preparations have they been doing for the tour? Is the album still being mixed? Is there going to be a new stage setup? Is it being mastered or is it mastered? Is there another tenative release date? Is there a set date? How does the group feel about the great reviews that the unfinished "better" has got? Is there any epics waiting in the wings? Most of these questions will most likely never be answered, However that is the fun part of being a fan.

After many years we are still in the same spot, or so it seems? Why do people still check out the GNR forums? No matter if we like the new band or not, they are drawn to it. I think we all want this album no matter what side we are on. Many people have called Chinese Democracy a running joke in the industry, but reality it is the Holy Grail of the recording industry. Think about it. Why can't people stop thinking about it or acknowledging it in some manner? They all wish that they had an artist in which built a master piece. The recording industry has been filled with sloppy horse shit over the years, no thinking has gone into song writing. Nothing comes from the heart, play a few cords and you have a song. That is what is different with Chinese Democracy.

To call it the "Holy Grail of the recording industry" is an extreme overstatement. Chinese Democracy is being talked about far more now than it will be once it is released. When it first comes out every magazine will do the big "FINALLY..." article, it will get some good reviews and it will get some bad reviews. But a year later, that will be that.

For this album to live up to the 15 years and millions of dollars spent on it, it would need to be the single most amazing collection of songs ever written, and as much as I love the old GnR, I just don't think that is going to happen.

I think it will be a very good rock record. I'll probably like it quite a bit judging from the demos I've heard so far, but in the end it isn't going to be some ground breaking event. The new band will get some respect once they prove themselves as an actual band in their own right and write and release several albums over time.

I am expecting Chinese Democracy to fix the Palestine-Israel issue.
I am expecting Chinese Democracy to stop capitalism and bring peace on earth.

If it doesn't, i'll be very disapointed in axl rose.

I'll just take an incarnation of Guns N' Roses.  GNR in itself represents one of the last cool things to happen in popular music.

I think people just need to step outside of the box that they are living in. Some people don't realize  this. As fans go, you can confidently say that we are the most loyal of them all. We have a lot to look forward too, no matter what.

With all the hype and expectations surrounding Chinese Democracy, it would have to be better than Appetite for Destruction to live up to it all.

I care because I hope it will be a great record.. one I want to get my hands on.

Further I'm interested in the whole process that's going on with the fans. The whole mass hysteria surrounding this is very interesting. It just seems all to easy to get people hooked up to something they're not allowed to know much about.

"Burning Questions and Why do we Care?"

For me it's more about curiosity than caring.
I'm curious to hear the new material, and to see how if compares to 1986 Gn'R.

Trust me it's worth the waiting...

Chinese democracy will definately be a huge success because the music will be very strong (i hope  nervous)
But i  think it will get a lot of bad reviews  just for the fact that it took 60 years to finalise it.....
All reviews (even the good ones) will have a bittersweet taste because no journalist on planet earth can avoid the fact that we seen 2 CD-World tours and 15 years in the making.....

Will it be earthshattering? no for the normal "music-user".......
the album would need to contain the best fucking music ever produced in the history of mankind. It would have to open the door to another dimension and would need to help you understanding the universe and shit

To me CD will mark the end of a damn loooooong wait . I actually only expect one album to surface . To be honest i wouldn't even wonder if GNR split up shortly after the next world tour when CD reached high chart positions all over the planet.

A reunion? No way . I don't even want to see that.

Honestly, I wish I didn't give a rats arse about Chinese Democracy a lot of the time. If it hadn't been for the leaks I don't think many people would still be here. Isn't it funny how just when the whole thing was looking like it was dead and buried something happened to keep us holding on. And here we are, over a year later, still waiting for Chinese Democracy  Roll Eyes

As of now, I don't about the specifics (although they are nice to know) what I really want is the music, because I do really like the music.

Funny, because I expect it to end socialism, and to be a sign of the apocalypse.

I agree about Israel-Palestine.  Each Israeli and Palestinian will buy it, dramatically increasing the weight of the territory, which will then break off into the ocean.  As the continents shift, it will end up in the Caribbean, at which time the only fighting will be between advocates of the daiquiri and pina colada.

The way I see it at the end of the day is that Axl is an artist just as a painter is an artist, and you don't constantly tell a painter to "hurry up his fucking painting"...you wait until he gets the inspiration to finish the painting.

Right about now Id imagine Axl's paint is drying..almost ready for public enjoyment ok

A nice analogy.  Let's just hope it's Louvre caliber and not "hang it on mom's fridge" caliber.  nervous

I just read this somewhere else.  It sums up what I feel.

"I now officially believe that the March release date was given only to silence both the media and we the fans when CD was a no show by the end of the year. They never intended on reaching this deadline. Its pretty pathetic that Axl has resorted to outright manipulation to protect Chinese Democracy from reaching the public. I know the whole "This is not a promise, a lie, or a gaurantee" crack Axl threw our way to prevent us from throwing stones when CD, once again, failed to be delivered. But I dont care, this is beyond lame of him.

Wake up folks. Nothing's gonna happen soon. April is a few days away and we still dont have a single, release date, cover art, tracklist, video shoot, news, or promotion of any kind whatsoever.......And the tour starts in two weeks. Yikes.

But oh, recording has been completed...yay."
