With the history GNR has in Rio de Janeiro, I find it almost impossible for them to come all the way to Brazil and not play Rio.

In the worst scenario, they could play in Rio in Copacabana beach for free, like Rolling Stones did. But I know this is not that good for the fans, because of the crowd, but still...

Well, even though I hate those free concerts at the copacabana beach, it would be good for me, so I could attend to more shows since there'll be more money left in my pocket!

Depending of the dates and how much money I'm gonna have, I'll attend to Both shows: Rio and S?o Paulo. But if the Rio's concert is a free one at the beach, I'll try to go to Porto Alegre too!
PS.: IF - and that's a Big IF - the Rio's show is on the beach...I don't know, but there's any chance of this show be broadcasted by Globo/Multishow?

Well.. I dunno about Globo. Axl doesn't like to show up in time and that could be really bad for the TV, because of their schedule. Unless it would be in a weekend, after 11pm.

If they start playing a Chinese Democracy tour without an album to support again, they're going to be a laughing stock. I hope it's out before this date.

That would be great. I'm hoping we see some tv coverage too MTV did quite a bit during Pearl Jams last visit and Band aired the show later.

I'm sure there are enough people and interest here (and also in Japan and South Africa) to attend to the same setlist as 2006. The problem will be the people on boards and critics on media.

They played in USA several times since 2001. UK had Leeds, Docklands and the 2006 shows.
Stop bitching. You don't even know if they are gonna promote a single or the album with a solid release date.

Not for Axl, but rather for other people. Negativity spreads like a disease with Internet... People bitchs about a show that didn't even happened yet, I wonder what they will say later..

Those are the people I was referencing.
Axl could bottle cans of his shit and call it "Super Axl Drink" and fans on the forum would say it's better than Coca-Cola. He doesn't have to win forum fans over.
It's a matter of winning over the general public. A few thousand people on a couple forums aren't going to matter in the long run when it comes to album sales.

Those are NOT the people I was referencing.
In fact, I was saying how the non-hardcore fans will be more than pleased to watch the same 2006 setlist. The only ones who will complain are the board people - at least, some of them.

Yeah. The casual fan who attends one show on the tour would be extremely happy with that show.
It's people who read setlists and who have issues with it.
I remember how "weird" it was being at the first ever GN'R show I saw and they played a lot of Use Your Illusion tracks.
It was before the Internet so even less people in the audience had heard the new tracks than today. I don't think too many of the people who attend the shows actually download bootlegs to get to know the new GN'R songs. So basically GN'R played about 3-5 new "unknown" songs at the shows in 2006.

Sometimes the internet gives you too much information. Mix that with todays short attention span, with Amercan being the worst in that regard, then that's why there's the reaction there is.......

The Manaus dates will be between May 20 ~ 25.
There's a complete transcription of the Di?rio do Amazonas on my board:

Other than that, we shall see more news about the tour in a couple of days.

It would be a dream come true to go to Brazil Lucky bunch! I wonder if they have the time to actually enjoy the sites, shop and try out the food while touring in these places?

Yeah, I agree.
My only concern is that many, many people (even non-GN'R fans) are aware of Chinese Democracy, and after their comeback last year making headlines in major publications like Rolling Stone, people may be skeptical of seeing another "Chinese Democracy Tour" with no album.
A couple months back I thought the album would be out in April, but I don't think that's going to happen now. Hopefully May or June.
