True, but what else are they gonna say?  "I thought they sucked honestly".  They'd have to take the high road regardless of how they truly felt.  They're standup guys.  I bet if you asked Eddie Van Halen, he'd have a different take.  He's not so standup.  And I'm not saying that Michael and Sammy DIDN'T enjoy it.

True, but what else are they gonna say?? "I thought they sucked honestly".? They'd have to take the high road regardless of how they truly felt.? They're standup guys.? I bet if you asked Eddie Van Halen, he'd have a different take.? He's not so standup.? And I'm not saying that Michael and Sammy DIDN'T enjoy it.

If he truely didnt like their performance I doubt he would have praised them as much as he did.

One thing people have to keep in mind is that Slash and Sammy are friends so I doubt that Sammy himself would say that he thought they sucked. Not that I myself thought they sucked either.

Yeah that's what I'm saying.  Sammy's absolutely right, they are extremely talented musicians.  They're a good pure hard rock band, that's hard to find these days.  But was THAT performance great?  I'm not so sure about that.

Well it seemed like he went a bit out of his way to say what he thought of them or said more than he needed to and IMO i thought he was really sincere with his remarks about the band.

Any band that would have played would not have had a fair shot-people wanted Van Halen, period-I thought it was a good performance, "Runaround" was just a bad idea, they way they did it-it was just a huge letdown that Eddie, Alex and Roth were not there-it kind of brought everything down

I agree that just about anyone would have been a let down.. Van Halen fans especially were disgruntled about VH not bing there. They would knock anyone who played.. ATBL was a good performance.  Most of the people that disagreed were VH fans or VR haters that want to see VR do bad.  Everyone that I know personally (not online) liked it.

Runaround was a different story. They performed it like that on purpose so Michael and Sammy could get out there and do their thing. They even used VR's equiptment...

Sammy and MA know what is up.

theres no defending it, the performance sucked. slash fucked up the intro, scott sang HORRIBLY. and runaround was them just playing a random riff and scott yelling round and round for 2 minutes.

Of course sammy/mike were going to give the diplomatic answer

They're just being diplomatic.  I've yet to hear anyone say that was a good performance.  It was HORRIBLE.  Which considering the whole drama of the VH saga, is pretty much par for the course.  It couldn't have gone well, it was doomed from the start.  And they're induction speech sucked too.  Shut up Scott!

For the most part I think people had a problem with Scott's performance, not the band in general.  And obviously lots of people have a problem with the "other" members of GNR, not Axl.  Coincidence???

You're kidding me!  That is the worse HOF induction that I have ever seen.  It's the joke around here - everyone is laughing over it.  And get this - my old man got a letter from a friend that he hasn't talked to for 10 years due to a fall out and he wrote "After watching the HOF ceremony lastnight, I realized how important friendships are.....  that was the worse thing I have ever seen."  there is no way I could argue with that.  no

OK, I saw it on youtube, its not as bad as people make it out to be. It's not their fault if Van Halen sucks ass and it was already hard enough to find a 'decent' song to cover.

But cmon scotty , put some meat on those bones ! hihi
